Saddle on the edge of some private cutover. Hoping one of those big private land bucks chases a doe into the public for me. I guess everybody did too much partying last night. The parking lot only had a couple trucks this morning. Normally it’s full during gun season.

Made the three hour trek with my dad after NYE celebrations. Spent all of Tuesday in this block and had a buck skirt around me at 7:30 and 4:00. Really hoping my old man can shoot one this weekend. He’s made 30+ sits on public ground and hasn’t been able to notch a tag. Good luck guys.

Appreciate it man. It almost paid off this morning. Had one push a doe into the private earlier. It’s pretty thick in here and they were a pretty good ways down, but I caught a quick glimpse of rack and I’m thinking he was a shooter. He wasn’t interested in my grunting, unfortunately

Buck hunt
Maurepas swamp wma
60 degrees, sunny with 5 mph west wind
Beretta A400, full choke with 000 buckshot

Late start but figure anytime is a good time in January. Back on the little island but sitting on the east end with the wind in my face today. Heard deer or pigs running through water the last time I sat here, maybe they’ll come dry off on the island this afternoon, we’ll see. Good luck and happy new year everyone!

Got out late so I'm in a box stand on a powerline. On doe patrol.

I think its time to retire this chair. I cant wiggle my toes without it squawking.

In a stand with my little girl. She’s been hunting pretty regularly this year. Trying to get her another one.
My wife and middle son are in stands west of us.
The buck we’d all been hunting was killed yesterday by a neighbor. I pity a fat doe that makes an appearance.

Roxie Ms in a box with two food plots. Got number three grandson on first hunt. Flipping and flopping in chair and it’s only been 1/2’hour. Hopefully his battery needs recharging and he will take a nap. I can wake him if I see one. If it’s brown it’s down. This box is normally money for a doe??. Good luck
