Yeah wasn’t expecting that. I would imagine he wants more PT.

Only thing I can think of is looking for a pay day. In line to start next year and is from LA playing for his home team with his whole defensive staff retained. Quite idiotic imo

This transfer portal/NIL game is getting out of hand. We have 19 year old kids transferring year after year for one thing…money. Every freaking player feels like he’s worth $10 million. There needs to be contracts in place since money is now involved. Or some sort of pay back plan. It’s the Wild West with ZERO regulations.

And ill bet you'll be celebrating the portal class LSU brings in.

To have one, you have to have the other.

Unless they told him they plan on bringing in another safety this year to replace Haulcy. Just because he was a backup this year doesn’t necessarily mean that they plan for him to be a starter next year.

So you would rather LSU be stuck with the players that were on the roster this year instead of being able to go out and grab new players that would be immediate starters?

Keep in mind that entering the portal doesn’t mean leaving. Players certainly use it as a bargaining chip in a sport that has pretty much open and unrestricted free agency at the end of every season

New coaching staff, new season, unfortunately means new negotiations in modern football

He played well in the bowl game and figured to have an opportunity to compete for a starting spot. If nothing else he would get plenty of PT. find it hard to believe they processed him.

I’m not saying they processed him but he might feel like he’s earned more snaps and if they plan on bringing in another safety, that’s not guaranteed. I assumed he would be in line to start next year as well but we have no clue what conversations are being had behind closed doors.
