We already know RAM has gone through the roof and will remain as high as giraffe arse for the foreseeable future, but now this:
Looks like I'll be sticking with my gaming laptop (instead of building a new higher-end desktop) for the time being.

I'll believe this one when I see it reported by someone reputable. I saw this on reddit this morning and the only source was a link to a Chinese website.

People like to fear monger about the price of computer components. Hoping this doesn’t come to pass and the other price issues ebb and flow back to sanity.
Glad I upgraded my GPU last year, tho.

Feudalism making a return in the 2020s is not something most people expected but it's where we are headed

Same here. I built mine back in June. Thankfully I got it built when I did.

Welp I'm fricked. Not like I have that much time to play games anymore anyway... I basically just play Overwatch 2 when I can. Try to occasionally get through a SP story-driven game but it's difficult. Last I did was Jedi Survivor and it took 2-3 months.
I really just want to play the new GTA.. probably never will.

I’m more optimistic that PC component prices will normalize than I am the next GTA will release

So gamers were kicked to the curb for bit mining and now the same for AI

Same, brother, I did it June/July. Ordinarily, it would be smart money to bet that my timing would be awful. Except for GPUs, everything was at or near historic lows. Even Ram hadn't spiked yet.

Honestly I think the signs were there even earlier with digital copies of games.

Welp, sounds like Nvidia doesn’t want customers buying their products. I have a hard time believing many people will still
be willing to pay that. That’s one helluva price increase.
