Glad to hear it, but the fact that this was even a concern is dumb. The NCAA needs to change the transfer portal rules. At least make it to where a dude at least has to spend his first 2 seasons at one school.
ETA: First 2 seasons at one school so you can actually experience campus life and see if you like the place. Limit it to 2 free transfers without sitting out plus the grad transfer rule. It still wouldn't be the same as it used to be, but at least we wouldn't have these ridiculous situations where a guy plays at 6 different schools and never actually gives himself a chance to grow as a player or enjoy the college experience.

I'm glad they shut Berry down in the bowl, last thing we needed was for him to go off for 200yrds and get on everyone's radar... one highlight and he was done

Good points and I generally agree. The only thing I'd do different is limit it to ONE free transfer w/o sitting out. They could still transfer a SECOND time if they've graduated. That might encourage some to graduate when they otherwise wouldn't.

Good suggestions but are you forgetting the NCAA is neutered in the courts on all this stuff?
We need some kind of collective bargaining agreement, which means college football would first need to establish a players association.
