Marcus Freeman has turned down multiple NFL head coaching opportunities to remain with the Irish. On Monday morning, Freeman informed two NFL franchises that had been in communication with him about their jobs that he was staying at Notre Dame, sources tell Sports Illustrated.
Notre Dame confirmed that Freeman has agreed to a restructured contract. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but his compensation is in the “top tier” of college coaches, a source says. Freeman signed a six-year contract last year, and this revised agreement adds one more year to the end, extending him through 2031.

He should hire Kelly as an analyst

BK should learn how to take receipts like Marcus Freeman

See his schedule next year? I wouldn't leave either

That schedule is weak as frick! I hope they get left out again.

Well duh! He can achieve mediocrity and still make the playoffs; the system has been modified just for his team.

And they’re dropping USC after next season I believe. Cupcake city.

So run it back... like his hair line?

They’ll run him off when he goes the next 3 seasons without winning a title

Still 3 loses on that schedule.
Wisconsin, Miami, and USC.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Navy game is a close one either.

Goodness. I don’t think ND could run Freeman off with a shitty mop. He has already turned down numerous offers I’m sure from other big time collegiate programs and now multiple NFL teams to stay at ND

I expect them to run it end to end to be honest. They've got Miami and that's it.
That being said they are going to have a hard time replacing both Price and Love. Their qb ain't up to filling that gap.

Why would he leave? They have by far the easiest path to the playoffs every season and have a MOU that basically guarantees them a spot moving forward. Anything 10-2 or better and they are in every year. The rest of college football could put a stop to this by refusing to schedule them until they join a conference and play by the same rules as everyone else.

They hasd actually anticipated this year's scenario, just a year too late.

Nah, ND will have to go 11-1. The MOU in practicality is irrelevant. Committee will manipulate it so if ND is / would be #11 or 12, they’ll have ND ranked at #13 in the final ranking to avoid the controversy.
They essentially did it this year: Alabama jumped ND after beating 5-7 Auburn by 7, then didn’t move down after losing by 21 in the SECCG (only 2 of the past 88 conference championship game losers didn’t drop at all, and one was 2025 Alabama who got annihilated). If UVA had beaten Duke, ND prob would’ve been #9, Bama #10, Miami out at #11. But because of Duke’s win, they needed to get an ACC team in the field (not officially obviously, but they weren’t going to leave a Power 4 out). So they left Bama at #9, dropped BYU, then suddenly “had to” invoke head-to-head bc Miami and ND were next to each other.
Long story short, the committee will manipulate as they see fit, and 11-1 ND will be in the top-10, 10-2 ND will be #13 or lower next year.
