Long live Mickey Loomis, architect of Super Bowl teams in 2009, 2011 (if Payton and Brees didnt choke), 2018 (if Payton and Brees didnt choke), and a projected Super Bowl winner in 2027.

Loomis was named NFL Executive of the Year for his work that season, which included hitting on late-round gems like Jahri Evans (4th round), Zach Strief (7th round), and Marques Colston (7th round).

Could be wrong, but I dont think Payton (hired in January) was responsible for the infrastructure that found those late round gems just a few months later

So was not drafting a QB who could be the next legitimate starter.

The key to rebuilding the franchise was getting rid of Mickey. Without that, we were done. The couch experts spoke.

Not all. The player Payton was set on in the 1st round of the 2020 draft (Ruiz draft) was Henry Riggs, who is in jail for vehicular manslaughter.

So Payton was solely responsible for all the horrible drafts we had after that as well?

Butterfly effect: he doesn't drive like a maniac on the streets of Nola.

We don't need to draft Chris olave.

Still hamstrung by the cap for at least two more years, and that’s only b/c Carr retired or it would be way worse.

We have our best draft in years, when coincidentally, an entirely new coaching staff was brought in. But we giving Loomis credit?

Some of you are such queens. The Saints had a winning season as recently as 2023. Ask the Jets, Giants, Raiders, Cardinals, Dolphins, etc. about poor management. Loomis’s biggest mistake was hiring DA and thinking we were on the cusp of something after 2021.

This is not true at all. We can clear upwards of $60+ mil in 2026 if we want, and even more in 2027.

100%

It's like some of these idiots didn't become fans until we won the SB, and expect that we should be winning one every year and if we don't the season was the worst ever.

Even with how horrible Allen is and the injuries we had, we still somehow had winning seasons even with him.

2024 was the first time since 2005 (Katrina season) with fewer than 7 wins, which was only the second time since 2000, and Loomis was here during that entire period.

Don’t bother. He’ll also tell you we should’ve traded for George Pickens and signed him to a mega deal this upcoming offseason. He just wants an avenue to complain.
