It is 80 degrees right now. Does this mean the crawfish prices will be down this year?

I'm sure one of you crawfish pond growers could tell me, does warm winter weather affect the crawfish harvest?

It ALL affects the crawfish, man. Heat, cold, wind, rain, tectonic plates shift, too cloudy, not cloudy enough, mud too brown, mud to light...

Whatever is needed for the $$ increase.

They're already serving crawfish at Sammy's, so I'd guess supply is great.

I think has more to do with that state to west of us that has a population of 32 MM and a new found love for crawfish!

They just blame it on all the other factors to make it look like it's strictly on the supply side.

You know that whole supply and demand thing!

Easing tensions in Europe combined with arbitrage opportunities involving the South African Rand will align with a cloudy regulatory environment to force prices up. That and . . .

Made the mistake of asking my Dad for some crawfish today. He said at $5 a pound you can buy your own. I’m selling everything! ??

Normally yes, unless in mid January you get some deep freezes in Southern LA , then the outlook goes to an average supply with the crop starting to mature in lat February
