Not to take away from the team’s progress and momentum, but his minutes have steadily decreased and he was DNP for the last two games. Queen is obviously taking his minutes but is it time to write him off? SI has blurb article about how he’s trade bait although I don’t know what if any value he is. He showed promise last year but has been completely inconsequential in his minutes this year. If we’re already giving up on him, what a shitty pick.

I gotta think hes playing tonight against cavs with Jarret Allen. Hes just not going to play against many teams until he gets better at rim d. Queen already looks better than him at it and borrego wants shooters off the bench so Karlo is gonna be the guy.

Why? Allen isn't really bigger than Queen.

It is not time to write him off but if you are offered a good trade package then you probably take it. 31' Lakers or GSW pick if available type trades.

Its less about Queen taking his minutes (because Missi was never the best option at starting Center) and more about Karlo possibly being more effective at backup.

I feel way better about keeping him in rotation for the next few years than I did about Jaxson Hayes.

There's a scenario that is essentially "all in" and that would be to keep Zion AND add Kessler to this team. This is probably least likely thing to ever happen but oh my would it be interesting...

DJ/ Fears
Bey/ Poole
Trey/ Herb
Queen/ Zion
Kessler/ Karlo

Get rid of Jose/ Hawk/ Missi/ Looney and you'd still have to pick 1 of DJ/ Poole next offseason.

If it costs (2) 1sts for Kessler and we can still trade Z for 1-2 1sts in the future if it goes south then you do it for the upside. If we can get a 1st for Missi then it would only cost an extra 1st which Z will return in a trade. Can y'all imagine adding Kessler + Murray to this current squad?

LAL: Missi/ Jose
JAZZ: Hawk/ Looney/ '31 LAL/ '30 Pels protected
Pels: Kessler/ Kleber

Done.

He can't play because he's only useful for 1 action on offense and that's the screen and roll. After that he just clogs the lane and is really inconsistent making himself available.

He's also a weak defensive rebounder and has a habit of leaving the paint switching into the perimeter for no reason. Queen for all his defensive deficiencies is smart enough not switch onto a guard on the perimeter and leave a massive hole in the paint. shite happens far too often and Missi ends up completely out of the play.

This is where Karlo has been more disciplined. He might not be a strong defender but he's not abandoning his assignment and actively trying to switch on a perimeter player and he still gives you the energy Missi offers.

At the end of the day, both Queen and Zion are more potent when Borrego maximize spacing around them and Missi doesn't give them that. And his defense and rebounding isn't strong enough to make putting him on the floor worth the trouble.

Like the thing he was specifically drafted to address? Woof.

was always a project. Late first round picks don’t usually pan out. Still has time but he’s clearly a back up big at best. That being said we should have picked Collier. Would have been a good Alvarado replacement

They should package Missi in a trade while he still has some value.

What’s the obsession with Kessler on this board? Won’t he be a rfa anyway? Y’all want to pay him big money and cough up firsts to get him? That sounds like a terrible idea.

He's a 24 y/o elite shot blocker and rebounder. He does the 2 elite things we as a franchise can't do and haven't done for decades now.

Yes.

It sounds like a terrible idea to people who don't know ball or how an NBA roster should be constructed for success.

Nah. I still think it’s a terrible idea. If we move salary and sign him outright and Jazz don’t match, yea I can see that. But giving away two firsts? Frick all that.

Most people, myself include, thought Missi was going to be a valuable piece.

Yall throw that word around so loosely. He is a decent young rim protector, far from elite and definitely not worth the return you just suggested. A team only makes a move like that if they're ready to contend and we're not there yet.

Missi will end up on Atlanta Hawks, imagine making the 8 seed and Atlanta decides to give our pick back for Missi
