MS will be what’s it’s always been.

Wealthy farmers and poor blacks in the delta
White trash in the hills
Middle class evangelicals and out of state hunters in the pine belt
Wealthy people in Madison county
Rednecks with money in Brandon
Memphis refugees in Desoto county
New Orleans refugees on the coast
Mennonites in the black belt

Economy is stagnant, population is stagnant, we suck enough to keep coastal liberals from moving here but it’s good enough most of us won’t leave because we enjoy the fact we are stuck in time and can pretend the rest of the country doesn’t really exist

That doesn’t seem accurate. GA doing fine. Kemp doling out refunds for running a surplus

I resent that. We Mississippians on the Coast have our own culture: Coast Trash.

If you're one of those people who simply wants to be left alone, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Nailed it. However, lots of old people starting to retire here along the coast, lots of old vets with access to the VA and what not (in Biloxi as well as close proximity to NO hospitals).

I think the retirement boom will be even more interesting if they get rid of state income taxes.

Its going to be pretty interesting to see how it plays out.

True but he nailed me on the New Orleans refugee. Although it took 20 years after Katrina to get here

Gov. Landry has Louisiana rolling. Heck, he even has time to go manage Greenland. What a solid pick for our country at this time.

What industries are doing well there? I thought lower oil prices would hurt Louisiana. I know Louisiana real estate projections don't look great.

Is it the AI race?
