Saints pulled off an amazing rebuild year

Regardless of how it ends, we absolutely nailed our draft class, have infused youth throughout the team, have hit on the coaching staff, have found our franchise QB, and are poised to get off of some older guys on big contracts.
Where teams like the Raiders and Jets have been perpetually rebuilding for years and years, we look like it truly only took a season to turn it around!

There’s definitely some excitement going into next year.

Loomis did a great job.
They followed 2017 with 7 years of duds though.
Hopefully this is a sign that lessons were learned and they keep it up

Its so easy.
1. Never ever ever trade up in draft
2. Take BPA who has great character
3. Don't mortgage the future, especially if you dont have a top five qb

Except they hurt their draft position by winning pointless games which hurts the theory of getting better players in the draft

Im not for tanking but we need that 4th place schedule next year. Just hope that ATL wins this coming week (unlikely) or beats us in final game

The Saints had an incredible draft which begs a few questions:
1)Was the scouting department upgraded?
2) Were the scouts' evals ignored and disregarded?
3) Were the coachs' preferences and choices given too much consideration in years past
4) Did Loomis finally learn his lessons?
5)or are Moore and his assistants that much better at evals and selecting?
Whichever is the case, or perhaps its a combination of the above, let's just hope this sets a trend. I'm liking the direction we're in.

I think Loomis always defers to his coaching staff. Shough is a perfect example of that. Moore knew what he was scouting and Loomis went and got him the player he coveted. The biggest difference in the draft is you don't have a dipshit coach like Allen asking for a retred like Carr.

All of this, but 2 can't be emphasized enough

quote:I will always believe KM and Loomis tanked the first half of the season with Rattler and some peculiar in-game decisions on purpose. I truly believe we'd be sitting at 8-9 wins right now if they'd tried to win from the start. If you're obsessed with draft position, you should thank them for all those early season Ls. Once you put in your QB of the future, though, the tanking has to stop.

7 TD, 5 Int. Y’all have such a low standard. I understand if MAYBE you wanna say 2026 QB

What are your reservations about Shough? Be specific
Oh, you’re a Shadeur guy

Yes, that sounds right, but what about all the other players. They seemed to hit on all or most of their choices. So again the question. Was the scouting dept upgraded?

Pointless to you. But not pointless to the team. Part of this is building a winning culture. I would rather build a winning culture rather then have the best draft in the world walking in to a losing culture.

So you think sending your team out to sleepwalk your way through "pointless games" to ensure you lose is a better course of action for the future than doing everything possible to develop your young talent while you have an opportunity to do so?
Sounds pretty dumb.

Drake Maye threw for 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, adding 421 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in 13 games his rookie year. Were the Patriots standards low?

Honestly feel better about this years team and the future more than I have the past 2-3 years.
