Who here partakes in this new tradition?

I had a friend who really got into doing different things with Sant's Spy every night.

We didn't do it... Advent was enough for us from 2007 onward.

If you do it... what's your best elf placement?

We do it. I hate it though because there have been plenty of times where we forget to move it before they wake up. Hard to explain that.

Thus the problem. The "fun" becomes a chore and an obligation and that sucks.

The bane of my existence during the holidays for 10+ years.

However, this is year two of not doing it, and I now miss those Christmases when my kids were younger, and Christmas was truly magical.

2007 makes it a new tradition. Longer than a trend, shorter than a full fledged tradition.

That's according to Sally so you can take it to the bank.

"He's a lazy, no good, shiftless elf. Probably on North Pole welfare. He Better get his act together or Santa's gonna take him off shelf duty and have him scooping reindeer poop."

My Mensch on a Bench is intentionally not hidden in the way women go after social media trends with finding new ways to get themselves IG cred. He's usually on the coffee table or mantle to remind everyone you were supposed to light the menorah 20 minutes ago.

It’s not new. My daughter is 20 years old (no pics) and she had elf on the shelf at 2 years old (definitely no pics). It was fun to do it but the nightly moves fizzled out around 8th grade. We still take him out to this day, but we don’t move him anymore.

I made my neighbors reindeer hump

White Christmas Lights , wrought iron

Can't even imagine how childish and immature I would have been with an elf on a shelf

Those Barbie dolls would have seen things
