If you use Marketplace to sell, beware of a "businesswoman" who goes by Katelyn Tyler on Facebook.
"She" tried to scam me by saying she sent me $20 to hold an item I was selling. I never received payment.
She then had her "husband" call me from a 206 area code. Also wanted me to verify the transaction by calling a 607 area code that was allegedly Zelle customer service but in reality was just another cell number. She had fake photos showing that the Zelle fake number was from a Google search.
He told me that I would regret messing up her bank transactions and that the FDIC would get me for fraud.
I told him I would call the cops, FBI and the FTC.
All of this was over an alleged $20 transaction.
The crooks are desperate.

You millennials are so easily manipulated

The FDIC??? lol, that's not what they do.
The risk behind selling shite of inconsequential value on FB is mind boggling to me. I had neighbors in million dollar houses listing onesies on FB marketplace for $4, etc. Just donate the shite.

If it was 10 years ago this thread would devolve into a fight about Alex Box reentry passes. But I won’t mention that.

I swear, young folks today believe everything. In an era we should be getting smarter as a society, we're getting dumber.

The majority of people left on Facebook are the most susceptible to scams.
Do your family a favor and don’t transact over Facebook. Most of you genuinely can’t handle it without being bamboozled.

I am far from stupid. Nothing bad happened. But they sure tried hard.
They didn't get anything from me. The person pretended to want to buy an item and went to great lengths to convince me that money was sent.
I know Zelle very well. My monthly $ is a Zelle transaction. Yeah... I am.a.trust fund bebe.

If you want to buy or sell used items, most of the business is transacted via marketplace.
