55* misting rain, some fog down in the swamp
My favorite box in the woods, camera made it look like the fog wasn’t too bad
,270 Winchester model 70

Last hunt until Friday afternoon, likely won’t fool with a doe this morning, so targeting a couple of culls I’ve seen.

Good luck and be safe fellows.

There’s been a big herd at the stand I’m on several times according to a club member.
Hell you may be him.

Getting cooler and windy but not bad. Familiar tree but one I haven't been up in a month this season. Some dude rolled in 5 minutes after legal shooting time and then I think he set up within 150 yds of me. Downwind, at least, but come on people. Get out earlier.

What do we think deer do related to barometric pressure? High/low/rising/falling, do they move more or less? Rising here today.

54deg. NE wind Sun just popped out and it’s beautiful.
Haven’t seen squat last two times I’ve hunted this stand, which is unusual. This one almost always has a couple of does hanging around.

Wife shot a nice 8 point out of it last week.

Won’t wait too much longer. Have Christmas office dinner to cook and some limbs to saw. Might train our bird dogs too.

I once read in a whitetail deer hunting book (forgot title, it was many moons ago) that when the pressure reaches 30.29 and higher, get in the woods. Good luck to all y’all out this morning regardless of barometer reading!

Was fortunate enough to get 2 does over the weekend. Now the fun part of butchering before Xmas. Naturally the buck I was after showed up this morning around sunrise.

What part of Panola county?

I have a really good friend that lives in Courtland. I went up to visit him during thanksgiving. When I go we hunt off Eureka rd and we also hunt off Fowler rd.

Late due to no service

Tunica hills wma

74 F and very, very muggy

Drainage off main creek

45-70

Jumped a deer on the way in. Was pretty cool watching a deer scale a near straight ridge running away. Other than that didn’t see anything. felt like early archery season out there. Was hoping to get one on last day of primitive. Back to archery. Really need a good cold front to come through because that’s the only time I see deer there is when it’s cold

Broke in the new rifle. Got a 100 plus pound doe. Shot low and a little back. Damn thing ran almost 100 yards and crossed the creek. Dog was on it. I didn’t even have a flashlight. My buddy jumped in to action and came to help. He proceeded to back into his wife’s friends car. shite show for sure. Dragging deer 100 yards through vines and mud is a young man’s game. I may go downshifts route and shoot a cannon from now on.

That’s south of us a bit. My farm is closer to 6 near Mt Olivent and Cotton Plant.
