They want him gone, I guess I get the frustration in the moment but the lad is just a sophomore. Massive upside and two years of eligibility remaining, I’d be willing to bet Lane is on it.

I just don’t know how real the Chambliss possibilities are.

I do know we need 2 quarterbacks in the portal.

That throw to end the game was bad. He had 5 yards of spade infront of his receiver, and he throws behind.

Heard that.

I don’t think he makes his way here, I do think we could do a whole lot worse. Far from a final product passing wise and like Jayden you just can’t ignore the pure athleticism.

Interesting turn of events. I was at the South Carolina game this year and they were chanting his name like a god in the concourses after the win

They are fools when it comes to sports, more money than Davy Crockett and have never won a thing with it.

Do not want and he won’t transfer anywhere to be a backup

You're not getting 2 big time starting QBs in the portal. You will get a big time QB then have to look at lower ranks like they did with Chambliss to maybe find a hidden gem somewhere. Possibly a sophomore with the opportunity to promise them the job next year if they work hard and look good enough.

I guess, after the way that he played against LSU the past two seasons, I thought Reed was a hard-to-defend problem and physically in the mold of tall & lanky dual threats like Jayden Daniels, Bryce Underwood & CJ Bailey.

Uhhh...nope:

Daniels 6-4, 210
Underwood 6-4, 228
Bailey 6-6, 213
Reed 6-1, 185

More like small & lanky.

It's going to take a kings ransom for him not to follow Weiss

I think the waiver is gonna be the issue for Chambliss. I don't see how he gets it, though you never know with the NCAA.

Because of his chronic illness in 2022 and they'll be terrified to be called racist after just granting one to Deigo Pavia?

Funny how now the waiver seems questionable to get. I read Ole Miss put in a strong case for him and if they let Pavia back they should let Chambliss.

I just read about that this morning, and it sounds pretty contrived. I found this blurb in an article:

quote:

Back in 2022 when he was at Ferris State, he did not play in a single game due to chronic tonsillitis, heart palpitations and trouble breathing, so he medically redshirted. After the season he had, proving he’s capable of playing at this level, he wants another year to build on his progress.

Chronic tonsilitis, heart palpitations, and trouble breathing? Also, in 2022 he appeared in two games but had no stats. 2022 was his redshirt freshman year, 2021 was the year he did not appear in any games, though he was on the roster.

2021 - 0 games, Redshirt
2022 - 2 games
2023 - 8 games
2024 - 15 games
2025 - 13 games

quote:

and they'll be terrified to be called racist after just granting one to Deigo Pavia?

That was a completely different case. Pavia played at a JUCO, which does not fall under the NCAA umbrella, and had to file a lawsuit to get his waiver. Chambliss has been under the NCAA umbrella all 5 years of his college career.

I would love him to get a waiver and follow Lane/Weis, but I feel like those things never go LSU's way, and I could see his application being denied, especially if they think he will then follow the most hated man in college football to LSU.

They all want to replace him because of how poorly he played the last 3-4 games. Elko said during his presser yesterday that Reed would be their starter next year. He’ll have to improve significantly next year as a passer for them to make it back to the playoff. Their schedule gets much tougher next year as well.

He's a take if only so that Blake Baker doesn't have to see him again.
