I can tell you this .. food is ok in oxford but the menus are SMALL. Like Louisiana restaurant menus are pages or at least a very full sheet like In The photo .. Oxford is often a front and maybe back but not pages.

Tweet not found; doesn't exist - what was it? I'm guessing Kiffin tweeted a shot of Phil's menu?

Oxford has an incredible food scene, not sure if you have any idea of what you are talking about considering your basis is pages per menu

I do. We’ve been so many time over the past 6 years. All I’m saying is many places have what I would call a smaller menu than most places in Louisiana.
Never said it wasn’t good.
Bouree. Jensei. Grill House. Talahatchie Gourmet. City Grocery.
Not to mention casual places. Volta. Rice & Spice (underrated). Phillips Grocery.

There’s like 4 or 5 good spots in Oxford. There are literally endless options in the BR area. The quality of food isn’t really a debate between the two areas.

Expansive menus are not usually a good thing.

Phil’s is good. Not great.

When I was a kid in the late 60’s early 70’s, on Friday night we’d go to dinner. Either Phil’s on Government or Ruby’s under the Perkins Road Overpass. It wasn’t just the shrimp basket or steak burger, it was also the community gathering that made it special, and both were always lit when an LSU game was involved.

Phil’s used to be great but the new location doesn’t have the original recipes (seriously). Still good though.
