In 2014, California passed a bill mandating that all gasoline storage tanks in the state of California be upgraded from single wall tanks to double wall tanks. The law will go into effect on January 1, 2026.
I don't have a problem with this one. This has been around for a long time and I expect most states already have this. Florida for example, required this by 2009.

I think it was $2.15 a gallon here the other day.

Cali has had to grapple with a ~$13B budget shortfall this year already, next year it's expected to be ~$18B. Unless something unexpected (like calling an emergency session to repeal some of those fuel-impacting laws), the state is going to have a far rougher 2026 than anyone expects.

Technically, I think you can be in compliance in Florida with single wall but with adequate secondary containment. I don’t know if CA has a similar provision.

They voted for this...when their gas is 6 and 7 dollars a gallon with lines....they should keep voting Democrat.

I am, not sure how you have secondary containment on an underground storage tank?
My dad had a country store and sold gas. In our case, the gas company owned the tanks and replaced them. I am not sure if that is common for most gas stations or not.

When all their nonsense fails they just blame Trump and the seals all start clapping their flippers.
The democrats will be lined up in droves to vote for this complete fool Newsome for president.

The double wall tank law is a good thing, but the rest of the excessive state government overreach is definitely self-caused pain.

Which they voted for. They let this get out of control and now it’s biting them in the arse. A cautionary tale for sure.

I paid $2.09 earlier this week at Costco in Frisco Texas. Just checked their website and is currently #2.01.
