If the Supreme Court strikes down Trump’s tariff power, is the military $1776 repossessed?

The warrior dividend will be paid out of tariff earnings, maybe it’s another way to leverage the SC into ruling in Trump’s favor.

Good luck repossessing it

Good question, I doubt it.

And you know the disgusting Democrats hope the Supreme Court strike them down.

There's a significant chance they will rule against Trump's tariffs. It's going to create turmoil in the stock market if they do.

My question is why is every military member getting 1776 dollars? I'm all for spot bonuses for above and beyond actions, but why every single one when we are so far in debt?

Obviously you haven’t served in the military where they have something that fricks people over daily called DTS. It is the Defense Travel System that military and civilian DOD contractors use to book travel and use for travel expenses, it is a pain in the arse for some and if you forget to submit the the right paperwork or it “gets lost”:

Then the burden is on you to rectify it, and DTS will withhold money from your pay.

Then you also have issues where certain military items deemed government property that was returned years ago but was never registered as returned and you end up paying for it before leaving service.

Then there are stories of service members getting promoted and it either never getting back to payroll or they “promote” you on paper and you get more or less in pay in this new role. Well if you got too much they want it back quickly, but if you were short changed good luck in getting that new officer pay you missed out on.

So moral of the story, Uncle Sam has military members by the balls if the someone decides to return the 1,776 bonus.

Won't be repossessed. They'll take it out of the next Ukraine payment.

No it will be put on all of us through adding it to the national debt.

That would be a problem, because taxes have to originate with Congress.

These aren't taxes, and this SCOTUS will go down in history as one of the worst to ever exist if they find otherwise.

That is like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound to the chest.

When you are 40 trillion in debt and it is growing nearly 3-4 billion a day, revenue would need to substantially increase to fix it, and that ain’t going to happen.

Find me a big name economist who says they are not a tax.

I will hang up and listen.

It should bother all of us that Trump is so cavalier with giving away taxpayer money like it’s his own personal piggy bank. When I hear him talk of fixing Obamacare subsidies his fix is to just “give the money directly to the taxpayer instead of the insurance companies”. How about getting rid of of all the fraud and debt then provide fixes that make people have skin in the game?
