Your head coach just got poached by a bigger dog, you’re preparing for a home CFB playoff game that will be eagerly be attended by 60,000+ and that you will likely win, and your darling transfer QB is all but guaranteeing that if he is granted an extra year of eligibility he will bolt to Baton Rouge

I can totally see the NCAA denying his request just frick LSU, but that is a melt for a different day.

Honestly screw ole miss but I’m not really a huge fan of stealing all their coaches and players. It kinda takes the fun out of college football when there’s no loyalty at all. I’m sure no one wants to admit it but the fear that in the current environment something similar could eventually happen to us is there. I would probably stop following college football if it did.

You should see the little pricks on twitter. I've never seen a fanbase cry and bitch so much over the past few weeks

I could see him staying, he is settled there and would have be a fan favorite. Guy has to do what is bet for his career.

It can and it will.

Enjoy the Kiffin era while we have it. But we will eventually be wha Ole Miss is now

Ever since this whole debacle began there’s just one thing I keep saying over in my head…you really can’t make this shite up and now, what has been a very forgetful season has turned in to one of the most memorable

It ruins the sport if we're telling the truth.

Let's weigh his options:

Stay at OM with a first year head coach, a new OC and system, and a weakened roster

OR

GEAUX to Baton Rouge - Second year with an offensive genius, and offensive staff running the same system, better players playing with you, more money, better facilities and way more NFL exposure and if everything falls right, (BIG IF I KNOW) a Heisman or first round draft pick.

Doesn't seem that complicated to me!

Not to mention that we've been posting on TR for two months that Ole Miss really isn't that good, they had an easy schedule, yada, yada. Now we want all their players?

If the NCAA wants good ratings, they will allow Chambliss an extra year to transfer to LSU

We will be the most watched team next year

I remember being upset at the *threat* of Kayshon Boutte transferring to Bama a few years ago. Now, they are all one-year free agents and the best ones opt out of the bowl games. All this talk of competing NIL budgets, player “representation” etc. just nauseates me. Traditional high school recruiting is over. We had 14 HS signees and a recent post suggested we’ll have a “portal class” of 18 and obviously those are the players that will play. Baseball, women’s basketball, all the same. HVL portals in, HVL portals out…. Are we supposed to truly care?

Chambliss is at best fourth on the list of potential QB’s. Probably lower.

I don't really get this narrative.

Yes, he bolted Tennessee. The justification can be made that he did so for USC, which was most likely his true dream job. At least at that time. But I definitely agree this is a strike against him.

He left FAU after 3 years to go to Ole Miss, a definite step up. Can't see how that's a problem for anyone.

And now he's left Ole Miss for LSU. That may or may not be considered a step up (we can be biased and feel that it is). But he was there for 6 years. A lot can, and has been made about the timing and it coming during their most successful year. The timing is unfortunate for Ole Miss, but professionally is he supposed to stay there another year or two just because they're having a good season?

He was fired by Oakland and USC. I just don't see where this label as a job hopper comes from. He's on his fifth school in 14 years as a head coach. Jon Sumrall is already moving on to school 3 in 4 years.
