We've been watching it every year for a few years now and I always get something new out of it.

Perfect mix of funny and sentimental and just really a feel good family romp. Watched it with my son just now and it holds up to multiple rewatches.

Norm Macdonald (RIP) and Joan Cusack do some great voice acting along with Rashida Jones.

If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it with your kids, or even yourself.

There's a part that rivals the misty-eyedness of the UP opening.

Just a solid film through and through

It’s my top Christmas movie. We all love it here.

Our oldest is almost 3 and is actually getting very into Christmas this year. We’ve been watching Christmas movies (or parts of) here and there with him, and just discovered this one a couple weeks ago.

We’ve watched it at least 3 times already.

This is a good example of how prudish the Internet can be. I went and looked for the age rating on Klaus to see if it would be good for my 7 year old.

Common Sense Media reviews say at least 10+ because it has violent, disturbing scenes including a noose around someone's neck, stabbing a snowman to death, and kids trying to kill each other.

There have been a number of truly heartwarming christmas movies that have come out the last decade or so.

Klaus (eyes sparkled)
8 bit Christmas (sobbed)
A Christmas Story Story (cried)
The Holdovers (didn't cry but definitely had feels)

Wish we would get more well done family christmas movies

A modern classic and is on the annual must-watch list since I discovered it two years ago.

It is in my top 5 Christmas movies made. It is simply fantastic.

Unique and clever reimagining of the Santa story while taking nothing away from the traditional lore of Santa either, which is very rare in today's world. Usually re-imagining the origin of something like this completely changes the character and rarely for the good.

Animation is great, voice acting is great, hitting you right in the feels is great. . The ending sequence, whew boy.

I discovered it a couple of years back and watch it every year. I love that it's a Santa Claus origin story that never actually uses the words "Santa Claus."

Our son came home from college and suggested it and we all loved it.it moves into the rotation with Holdovers (I love this but my family won’t watch it for some reason) and 8-Bit Christmas

Absolutely lovely little story that pieces together the legend of Christmas without taking anything away. Even though it doesn’t lean into the Christian part of Christmas, it is a selfless tale.

Spirited is another good one.

I’m going to queue up 8 bit Christmas this year with the family… that was my childhood era.

I like how the ending, while bittersweet, explains how Santa can be seemingly everywhere at once.

I think that "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" may be the only version that ties together Santa's origins with the birth of Christ. That said, you're right in that Klaus tells a story of selfless love for others, which is at the core of the Holiday season.

It was the first Christmas movie we fired up after Thanksgiving. It's the household favorite now.

I gotta say thanks for this recommendation. That was an absolutely wonderful movie. The animation was brilliant, the characters and story telling felt very authentic. We need more movies like this in the world today. This will absolutely stay in the annual Christmas rotation for our family.
