How do you think Will Hall is going to do at Tulane?

Had some time to digest this other than the poor optics of the hire/ process

Hall seemed to be on a decent career trajectory before USM. If Tulane fans can memory hole his tenure there you feel better, although tough to overlook that.

Won’t be tasked with a major rebuild. He may find success with better staff decisions than he made at his last head coaching stint.

This is all just bargaining of course since the hire looks so bad. I’m somewhere in between he’s gonna nuke Tulane into the ground and he’ll keep them around where they have been.

I’m expecting some natural regression like Tulane likely would have had anyway, with the optimism Will Hall is still young enough to be hungry to win and land better job

Will put Tulane back to what was going to eventually happen -- irrelevancy.

Got lucky with a few good hires that's about to end here.

Top 10 G5 job. Despite what this board thinks about Tulane being cheap, they have to simply make the playoffs once every 3-4 years to be a massive success and Will Hall will be a major name for a top coaching job.

One playoff appearance in the next 3 years - they have to just catch lightning in a bottle and keep spending close to as much as the top g5 jobs (JMU, Boise State, Memphis, SMU, App State, Colorado State, etc. are all top g5 schools) and he will be ok. The search was really terrible, no doubt, but nonetheless it will be ok. There is a gross overreaction that he is not that great.

Tulane is in a really good place relative to the G5 schools. It's easier to win at Tulane now. I expect some mean reversion in 2026, but we should still win 7-plus games next year.

This was not a good hire. I just hope the Tulane AD fires him before he does too much damage and sinks the program into a decade of irrelevance.

He will probably average 7-8 wins a year. I think he’s a good guy, but I just don’t see him at the level of Fritz or Sumrall as a coach. I think the AD needs to go more than anyone else.

7 wins would be pitiful with how weak the American is

I would hope Tulane shitcans the AD, moves on from Hall and performs a real coaching search if we backslide that much

If Hall bombs I don't see the AD keeping his job.

A booster was more responsible for hiring Sumrall than the current AD.

For me personally I am happy that we didn't hire Coach O or Frank Wilson. If one of those two were hired I was probably canceling my season tickets.

The problem with the Hall hiring is even if you take out his record at Southern Miss (I don't) it should not have take a couple of interviews with him and that much time to hire him when Baker turned down the job. Hall was in the building.....

Honestly, not to be rude, but I couldn't care less how Tulane does.

I just wouldn't put a ton of stock into his USM tenure. They are one of the least funded ADs in the country. There's a reason Huff was willing to leave almost immediately.

I think he had to play like 4 QBs in one season due to injuries.

You and Tulane’s administration have that in common

Well according to like 4 people on Twitter that isn't true and USM was funded like the rest of the conference....................

I have mixed feelings regarding Hall. I saw him play in college, and he coached in the Gulf South. His antics at West Georgia were annoying, but I still hoped he would do well.

It also seems like there were candidates with a higher ceiling during this search as well.

How'd he do at USM? He'll have less resources and fan support than he did there.
