Study finds is your source?

K.

Most Republicans live in the real world and know what’s going on is a bunch of globalist Marxist bullshite.

Liberals have conjured up a bunch of bullshite and lies to convince their side that they are the good guys.

You mean all those “conspiracies” that turned out to be true?

Are they still called conspiracy theories after they have been proven to be true?

Judging from the nonsense on this board, this is a true statement.

I support small government, low taxes and conservative principles. Yet I'm also not a complete psychopath nutjob.

Ever notice how people don't believe in just one conspiracy theory? The same people that think the twin towers were brought down by CIA planted explosives also think the moon landings were fake, the Secret Service tried to assassinate Trump, Charlie Kirk was murdered by the FBI and vapor trails behind jet planes are actually biological weapons being deployed by a shadowy cabal of dark politicians. It's all or nothing.

It can become an ideology and like all ideologies, it's prone to oversimplifying the world.

Not generally. I think we tend to call those "conspiracies" (e.g. plot against Caesar, Watergate political espionage/dirty tricks, etc.

Conspiracy theories like to say "conspiracies are real" to justify warrant to conspiracy-theorizing and they're right, but the ones with sufficient evidence are worth believing and you should hold off on the others. That of course, begs the question of what are your standards of belief...

This isn’t because there is something innate about being conservative that lends itself to being a conspiracy loon.

It’s because since 2020, the “conservatives” have increasingly associated themselves with conspiracy loons.

It’s a classic recruiting bias and pretty interesting because many traditionally-leftist conspiracies have flipped to be associated with the right.

Antivax/antiGMO/anti-institutional positions used to be more associated with the left but that’s completely flipped.

You could take a 2005 era anti-Iraq war democrat, drop them into 2025 the GOP, and they’d have no problem fitting in.

I wonder what these "researchers" determined are "conspiracy theories"?

quote:

When researchers asked people about conspiracy theories, like whether the science behind global warming has been invented or distorted, or whether experiments with new drugs are routinely carried out on the public without their knowledge or consent

That's what I thought. Facts are conspiracy theories to these retards.

I've been amazed at how the right will needlessly invent conspiracies, like with the Kirk assassination, and then spend a lot of energy and focus on fighting about these topics while doing little to engage the left on their own weak points.

That being said, if you consider Marxism to be large and complex set of conspiracies that center around the exploited vs the exploiter I'd argue that the believe in conspiracy theories more than the right. The difference is that they developed schools of thought, journals and institutions to their as a way to legitimize them and the right are left with PT like boards and youtube channels.

We are constantly being lied to by our own government. We frequently catch them in their lies.
