It’s worth a watch. My dark hearted wife thought it was okay, but I really liked it.

It’ll make you want to spice things up with the wife or seek out an emotional affair! Merry Christmas!

I have not seen in. I know it’s a very widely known movie that a lot of people like.

But there is a significant portion of the population that HATES this movie with a passion. I’ve heard multiple rants about this movie over the years

Very Solid ensemble cast, honestly struggle to think of a better quality cast, especially for a seasonal movie. It’s like a pulp fiction for Christmas. Not sure why the hate.

My wife loves it but I'm in the hate it camp. Its corny, absurd and most of the characters are unlikeable not to mention that virtually none of what it pretends is love is anything of the sort. Everybody is either cheating on someone, or stalking someone or behaving in some other ridiculous manner yet we are supposed to be rooting for these folks? Spare me. And yes Ive seen it several times, much to my chagrin.

It’s my favorite Christmas movie. Sure, the guy at the end is the worst friend imaginable but great movie.

Lots of implausible human behavior exhibited throughout. Not believable so not engaging.

It’s up there with The Family Stone in terms of ensemble movies that want me to feel a certain kind of way but every character is so god damn unlikable that I just can’t get there.

Well one story line involves a guy stalking his “mates” wife to the point he shows up at their house to profess his feelings for her. What was he going to say if his friend answered the door and asks what’s up with the cards and boom box?

Everything about that storyline is weird and creepy.

Another involves a wife digging in her husbands coat pocket finding a necklace then assuming he’s cheating because she doesn’t get the necklace with the first gift she opens? Btw did he actually cheat with the secretary? She’s pretty hot.

Then there’s Laura Linney about to shag Xerxes but her crazy brother cock blocks her and then tries to beat her

In spite of every character being an a-hole, I still like this movie. I think it's because it reminds me of my own family. They do a good job of giving you the Christmas vibe, including all the dysfunction.

The individual storylines are of varying quality, and this is by far the most annoying one to me. She's been obsessed with this guy forever, they finally have a chance to hook up yet she can't leave her brother to his handlers for an hour or two, then "oh well, didn't work out the first time! guess we're done!"

I actually like the Alan Rickman storyline. Emma Thompson is kinda hot to me!!

Overall I still love this move. My favorite storyline is probably Liam Neeson and his son. The horny guy coming to America was pretty funny too (although a little far-fetched, but it's a movie!)

Likewise. One of my favorite holiday films. Big old house packed to the rafters with family. Snow. And of course, the inevitable drama that ensues when a family member brings their significant other home for Christmas for the first time.

Same, that’s a Christmas go to for us. I’d prefer to watch Family Stone 10x in a row than watch Love Actually again. Gave that movie a shot based on this thread and wife and I are both in the hate camp.
