Better than expected. The Delorean effects were really good. They have some good deals online for tickets. Got 4 in the orchestra for a good price.
Highly recommend if you have a chance to see it.

I get not a movie. But it's based on a movie with enough changed to make it fresh. Even off Broadway the actors were really good.

Out of the 25 musical numbers they performed power of love and back in time at least twice each. Also had Huey as a chatacter in the play at the end.
So yeah.

The way they do the time machine is really cool.
Some of the best effects I've seen in a musical. Especially when it flies. They used scrims and a screen to make it look like it was driving and had beat effects when it got to 88 mph.
It didn't really drag and it did a good job with comedy and cracking random jokes.
It was easily one of the better plays I've seen at the Saenger. Up there with plays I've seen on Broadway.

Didn't know that this existed. I'm very interested, but I have two major concerns:
1) it's just too loud
2) I'm not ready for it (but my kids are liable to love it)

I went and it was great. I enjoyed the special effects with the car and lights. It worked very well for this show since it was supposed to be "futuristic". I loved how much of the dialogue was the exact wording from the movie.

It was odd not having the Libyans though. (Instead of having African terrorists shooting guns and RPGs, the musical had Doc die from radiation exposure.)

Yeah that and the Delorean needing Docs voice to work was the big change for the show. It worked but was a huge change. Also Doc didn't test the Delorean with Einstein.

Seeing it last night was awesome. Incredible visuals, great songs, solid mix of humor, heart, and action, just an absolute joy from start to finish.

I saw it on the Star of the Seas and gave a custom Doc Brown duck to the ship's Doc Brown. We met up in one of the bars and talked about the show for awhile. Dude was super awesome. He got to hang out and talk to Bob Gale for awhile during rehearsals.

A lot of the changes including the Libyans is because Bob did not want anything on stage that would look terrible. They could never come up with the plan to use terrorists that wouldn't look very bad. This is also why the skateboard chase was changed so much and no manure. He did not like the lightsaber scene, he wished they did Vader instead. The show I saw was cut down from the Broadway show though. They reduced it down to 2:45 by cutting down some of the songs and such.

Since I got to watch the show a few times on my sailing. Justin had me look for things on stage. Every time they go into Doc's workshop, lots of things change including all of the hands on the clocks. If you watch the food on shelves in the diner, it changes as well. Everything in the props changes to show the passage of time. It's crazy some of the details you notice when you watch it again.

The lightsaber scene and telling Biff "i am your father" was funny but out of place.
They didn't do the spaceman scene with George either.

Saw it last year and loved it. Apparently it’s off broadway now due to slow ticket sales so I guess it’s not for everyone

I wasn’t crazy about Marty but he grew on me. Just be prepared for a few changes in the plot and not everything from the movie making it. It jumps around a lot

Still highly recommend it

I loved it but my only complaint...though not really a complaint, but the only thing that kind of took me out of it was that Doc Brown acted and sounded way too much like Beetlejuice from the musical down to the "the girls show up when I start singing" bit.
