St Charles Comets lost and then they won the State Championship.

St Charles Down 21 to 20 with 35 seconds left and game is over. All Shaw has to do is down the ball. St Charles has 3 TOs. After 1st kneel. The center for Shaw takes his helmet off and throws it as if the game is over. Penalty, St Charles saves TO. They make Shaw punt because of the saved TO. Shaw punter shanks it with 17 seconds to go. St Charles runs 2 plays. The Kicker for St Charles who missed the extra point 40 seconds earlier hits a 40 yard FG to win the game 23 to 21.

Not only that the coach never told him to do it slower. He just kneels from shotgun very fast. They punted with 21 seconds on clock.

#50 for Shaw going to need some counseling.
Poor job by the Shaw staff though. After the penalty they continued kneeling ball in shotgun losing 7 yards a pop even though they couldn’t run out the clock.
Crazy ending.

Actually st Charles only had 2 timeouts left. Shaw could have knelt it out. They did a victory formation in shotgun which cost them 20 yards. Stupid. Helmet throwing penalty stopped clock thus giving st Charles a 3rd timeout. Punter punted ball sideways. Almost impossible to lose the game but Shaw managed to.

Even with the helmet toss, a good kick from the punter would have made it much more difficult for St Charles to drive into field goal territory.

And kneeling it each time in shotgun. Lost 6 yards every time. Then yanked a punt. Gave them free yardage

Why would you quick kneel ? If you’re taking snap in shotgun at least take some time before kneeling. Could have run it out even with the dumb penalty. Cmon hank.
