Republican-led House votes to overturn Trump executive order on bargaining rights

The House approved a measure Thursday to reinstate collective bargaining rights to federal workers, a step toward restoring labor union protections for nearly 1 million federal employees. The rare bipartisan vote, 231-195, marks the first time the House has voted to nullify an executive order from President Donald Trump this term.
quote:
Twenty Republicans voted with Democrats in supporting the bill, which was introduced by Reps. Jared Golden of Maine, a Democrat, and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, a Republican. The bill now heads to the Senate. “This is solidarity in action. I’m proud of the bipartisan coalition who passed this bill,” Golden wrote Thursday on X. Fitzpatrick wrote Thursday on X that the measure “restores something fundamental: the right of public servants to be heard, respected, and represented in their workplace,” and urged the Senate to “finish the job.”

The unelected bureaucratic state will not be defeated.
We are so through as a nation. I thought Trump would at least be a bump in the road. Nope.

Even that legendary Dem hero FDR was adamant that government employees should not be permitted to unionize.

This is true.
Public sector union should be abolished.

There's no way any so called Republican should be supporting unions, much less federal govt employee unions. This is just another example of people who only pretend to be Pubs to get elected letting their true colors show. They despise you and think youre too stupid to even notice.

That covers probably 85% of them.
There’s a reason Trump is attempting to rule by executive order. He’s never had the support of his own party, in this or the previous term, despite majorities in house and senate both times. They’re just waiting him out like last time, and they’re ashamed he got elected. It’s pathetic.

It may come down to a Convention of States being our last hope.

Yep, but they all beg for his endorsement.
They are worse than Dems.

Wrong!!!
If it's the private sector go ahead and unionize, if it's taxpayer dollars paying the wages there shouldn't be any unionizing without a majority of Americans voting to allow for government sector unionization.

Direct conflict of interest.
The federal employees vote in union friendly reps. Union friendly reps then strengthen federal employee union and pump more money into union. Federal employee union then donates a portion of the money to help elect more union friendly reps.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

a public sector union is not the same as private sector.
You have one side with a tremendous amount of votes wanting money, and the other with a pot of taxpayer dollars wanting the votes.
Its why you cant fire them, and the retirement packages are absurd, because the retirement nonsense wont hit until long after the politician is gone.
NYC cops retirement is based on average of the last three years, so they work mountains of overtime, retire at 40 get a pension close to 100K plus 12K in supplemental.
The state of californias calpers is a trainwreck.
