Sure, Kyiv’s military faces major challenges against Moscow’s massive army, but analysts say a Russian breakthrough is highly unlikely.

WSJ
quote:

President Trump says Ukraine is losing the war against Russia. That’s not what it looks like to Ukrainian Army Maj. Oleh Hlushko, a battalion commander whose men repelled another assault on their part of the southeastern front this week.

“Occasionally, they manage to raise their flags and claim that a position has been taken, but we then conduct clearing operations, remove the symbols, and the position remains under our control,” said Hlushko, of the Separate Presidential Brigade

If Ukraine can reconstitute their reserves through recruitment, they can outlast the winter and stall any Trump demands to concede to Russian terms in the “peace” deal.

They should continue to reject onerous deals and use our long range weapons to start striking the Kremlin. That would bring Putin/Trump to the table…

Yeah a side that is winning is totally ripping 45 year old amputees from their homes and forcing them to conscript

Why doesn’t mighty Mother Russia just end the war?

Why didn’t they take Kyiv in 3 days like they were originally instructed in 2022?

Ukraine is going to win this war, with or without US support.

We need to decide what side of history we want to be on.

Let's see .... on the one hand the POTUS makes a claim. On the other, a fricking Major in the army makes a claim. RFK and the idiot journalist author weigh those equally.

Ukraine is losing the war of attrition.

And if the war continues they will continue to lose dudes that they cannot replace. The Institute for the Study of War says that a majority of Ukrainian battalions are down to 50% strength here in December 2025. That means they no longer have the ability to conduct major offensive operations, which means they are not going to be able to drive the Russians out of Donbas. So this idea that Ukraine is going to get a peace negotiation where they are able to keep all of their territory is wishful thinking.

First, Russia never said they would take Kiev in three days, again that was the US's Mark Milley said that, which no doubt a BS.. Ukraine had the biggest strongest army in Europe when this war started, Nato had been building it for years, loaded them with weapons and they were hurting Russia at the start of the war, but most of those soilders are gone, Russia adjusted and now they are a grinding machine. They continue grinding westward, nothing Ukraine can do to stop it.. Ukraine and the EU are both broke, they might steal Russian Assets to pay for the war but I doubt it. So, do you Nato is going to send troops, not going to happen.. EU countries are cowards and have been since the start this is a war for all of Europe but only Ukrainians can fight for it.. Give me a break...

Russia is in the driver's seat and is going for a grind it out type conflict. They historically have done pretty well in those types of conflicts.
Europe is going to keep fighting to the last Ukrainian.

Cool. So we dont need to send them money.

How much money have we sent to Ukraine already?

Edit: Seeing about 187 Billion dollars. Anyone who says that's not enough to be counted on the "right side of history" can get fricked.

From what crevice inside your anus did you come to this conclusion. Watch ABC news less often. RFK? So you're against the vaccines but pro-Ukraine? That's freakin odd, because the Ukraine harbored dozens of bio-weapon labs. You can't be serious.

Captured Russian officers and tank crews confirmed they were told to take Kyiv and prepare for a parade in Kyiv’s downtown square.

They also had maps from the 1980s which shows you how confident Russia was in taking Ukraine in less than a week.

What, exactly, is the US interest in this clusterfrick and why is it Europe’s problem and not ours to deal with?…

Because this war leans more as a policing action than a genocide. Once Putin annexes these regions they have to live and work with the people. If you listen to Putin’s side they’ve been doing this since the 8th century with ebbs and flows.

Dude, it was never said by Putin or his Generals, captured soilders will say anything, they are told to say. Again Milley said this before the world even started, it was suppose to be a PR win for Ukraine against Russia, which it has been, because you going with it, when we knew that would not happen. Russia no doubt didn't think Ukraine's army would be this good but Russia as per normal, lose at first, then adjust, and then go into a attrition war, not a land grab war, which they win because they have more men.. Just ask Hitler, Russia took on the greatest army in the world in WW2, the Germans and won but they lost maybe 20 million people or more, truth is if the Germans had not attacked Russia more than likely they would have won WW2.
