Does Moscona actually have any inside sources at LSU or elsewhere for that matter?

It seems like he just recirculates the latest rumors that are being bounced around online. I never get any actual insights from his podcast. He just says “this might or might not happen”, which is useless and just means he doesn’t know shite.

Also, he has too many brain farts on air. He was talking last night about Virginia Tech negotiating the buyout with Penn State for “Jim Harbaugh” when he was actually talking about James Franklin.

Who knows
But I can’t fault a guy that always has a show available- I can’t imagine on how much work he does behind the scenes
Everyone claims to have a source - except me lol

He wasn't saying anything different than we were reading on this board.

I do at least appreciate that he puts out content. Between Locked On, AFR, the morning show and the postgame stuff, he easily puts out more content than pretty much the rest of 104.5 combined. Just wish he wasn't so condescending sometimes.

He definitely has contacts within the athletic department. The problem with that is that the information he is getting is the information that LSU doesn't mind being public. If those guys tell him something that LSU doesn't want public, he'll never say it because he will lose that source. So when people say he is a "mouthpiece for the administration" that's probably pretty accurate.

For example, when Whit got hurt, he would hint at the injury being worse than it was being made out to be. However, he wouldn't say what it was publicly because whoever gave him that info told him not to say.

I never listened to him really until I’ve been on the road constantly the past few months

I’m glad for his show just to pass the time and hear about LSU football even if it’s nothing I can’t read on here

He was at practice all the time, so he was reliable on that front. His "opinions" were essentially the mouthpiece of the admin.
His "in" left the building with Woody. Not sure on his relationship with Verge.
But you can bet his football access will change with this new regime as he has publicly trashed Kiffin many times.

As for any other "inside" info - very little. He claims he found out about Moore at Michigan this weekend, but other actual media people now claim they have knew it was in the works for WEEKS. Pate said he was told that Agents expected this job to be open for like a month or something like that.

So while MM was a good source for practice news I would say that would be the absolute end of it. And I don't think Kiffin provides the same access that Kelly did.
And MM was 100% WRONG about this coaching firing and search the entire way. He guaranteed that BK would not be fired because the boosters didnt want to pay for it yet they are exactly the ones that demanded it happen in a suite with the governor at the aTm game.

Mascona reads TD, finds something out

Then

Repeats it, and says he knew about it for two weeks..

Your expectations are off. Expecting a local media personality to have tock solid inside information before it's ready to be public is humorously off base.

Bruh, he told everybody that HE…HE broke the Kelly being fired story…he was first…bc he is connected whether you like it or not.

Just Forget that he said he was told directly after Vandy, “there’s no appetite to fire Kelly”.

Just forget that he admitted to getting no information about Kiffin. To the point he was aggravated about not getting info.

He might talk to connected ppl, but he’s not given any info that isn’t already public. He gets feed public info, feed BS and kept in the dark.

He definitely has sources. He's not great at breaking news though. He's extremely careful to be the first to say anything because he doesn't want to be wrong, but probably why he has really good sources because he's very careful with the info. Never releasing anything until it's "official".

So a lot of times you get this pretentious "I knew this x amount of days ago blah blah". Well that's great and all, but doesn't really do anything except come off kind of cringe and boasting about yourself. Like its great that you knew everything days ago, but it really doesn't mean anything to your listeners unless you actually told them something when you found out about it.

Just not a good look and rubs people the wrong way, but he keeps doing it.

Of course, he has sources. Doing that job is dangerous. If you're wrong, your credibility is over. If you are right, even then, there are aspects of your "prediction" that may be off. And many times, MANY TIMES, they cannot say everything they know to keep their source.

Of course he has legit sources. He can't sit there and throw out everthing he hears.

Unlike those on here that post anonymously, Matt puts his face and name out there and can't just throw shite at a wall and hope it sticks.

Moscona is employed by Guaranty Media which is the flag station of the LSU Radio Network, you'd think he's got inside info. All of Guaranty's hosts should have inside sources, or they're not doing their job
