If the savings in labor is greater than the theft, well you do it.

It's not you, it's not Walmart.
It's the thousands every day who intentionally pretend to scan stuff.

Walmart literally has an average of 136,000 people stealing every day by not scanning items.

That's $3 billion a year with average theft around $60.

I've had one incident when the checkout screen asked an associate to help. The screen showed me scanning and item that didn't s scan the first swipe, so I rescanned it.
I ended up having it double scanned.

Walmart management wasn't so happy with me when I called the sheriff's office and a deputy responded.
The deputy gave the manager an earful, explaining that Walmart stealing from me is no less of a crime than all the people they have called law enforcement over.

I don't see the problem here?

Blame the usual suspects for continually stealing shite, not Walmart.

I’ve had two deliveries from Sam’s where they left the items on the porch and drove away, only for me to open the items and realize one is missing.

So they’re definitely running it back

This is why I shop at more reputable retailers like Target.

ETA: I guess none of you know how to take a joke.

Good.

It's about time we as a society stopped tolerating petty theft at retail stores.

so you double scanned an item- inadvertently. Then called the cops instead of asking one of the employees to simply delete the duplicate scan?

They called first, then canceled the call when they realized it was their mistake
