How hands-on will Kiffin be for the Texas bowl prep?

I know Kiffin isn't coaching the game, but do you expect him to be involved in game planning/bowl practices at all? I have a hard time believing Kiffin wouldn't want to be involved.

Or is he merely focused on recruiting, staff, and the transfer portal?

I believe his main focus will be to watch as many position groups as possible and evaluate the talent that he has to help make a plan for the portal.

Can't do that if he's coaching QB Drills or focused only on the Offense.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Hopefully he’s just recruiting, self scouting to see how shittily the offensive players have been coached so they can start correcting things, and honestly this should be basically an audition for WRs currently on the team to see who gets to stay

Let this version of offense flush itself in bowl game and start fresh with his system after bowl game

At most he will tell the assistants some drills that he likes for evaluating the players. He will spend the time looking for guys to bring in from the portal and evaluating LSU players to decide who to keep.

I want him to delete and reinstall a functional offense and call plays. That isn’t realistic but another 17 pt performance is too much to watch

He doesn’t have to watch practice to know LSUs weaknesses. He has been watching game tape since they fired BK.For him to come in and already have his staff and GM in place and talking about the portal tells me he has done his homework.I hope he gets involved for the bowl game and helps out on offense.

He should at minimum just watch coaches prepare for the bowl and watch players practice.
That will tell him all he needs to know at this point

Would be great if he Fired all of those Useless F’s and ran the offense by himself for the Bowl!

When you fire your head coach mid-season, you pretty much concede all of the remaining games….it just is what it is.

incoming coaches rarely have anything to do with it. They can focus on other things before their hands on coaching starts next year.

I was downvoted into oblivion for asking the same thing

It would be nice to see him add some of his plays to the offense, but I highly doubt that happens. My best guess is he will be observing a lot with minimal hands on.

I think he will only be involved in PR...meaning at the game is LSU gear giving interviews

I would be totally cool with him:

Tweaking the offensive scheme a little.

Adding a few appropriate and effective plays.

Doing a little hands on work with certain players.

Affecting the attitude of the whole team with a few motivational speeches.

Calling a few plays.

Very little coaching and likely no game planning whatsoever.

The pure football fan in me though would love to see Nuss at QB with a ten play package from a Kiffin/Wiess offense. There just isn't enough time, much less necessity, to make that happen.
