New truck or spend $ to extend warranty?

I have a 2019 Raptor and am about to hit 100K miles wherein my extended warranty will run out. I do NOT want to own this truck w/o a warranty. I have the following options:
Keep truck. Needs new tires, shocks, and 4 yr/40K warranty for $8,500. Will sell truck when next warranty expires
New truck w/ extended warranty. $80K + warranty - $35K trade in + TTL
I do not own a business and am a W-2 employee so I don't see a way to get a tax benefit.
Thoughts?

8500/3 years is less than 45000/4 or 5 years.
First post on MB but this was logic I used when had work done on my vehicle vs buying another.
Been satisfied 1.5 years.

Buy a Tundra, don’t need to worry about a warranty.
You can get a used 2017ish base model with 60-70k miles right now for low to mid $20s if you look around.
Mine has 240,000 miles and never a worry.

I currently own a F150 and my previous two vehicles were f150s that both had over 200k miles on them. None were Raptors and I am unfamiliar with the difference between them and what I owned, but I have never had a repair that costs anywhere near $8500. I do not think I have had repair items total $8500 for all three vehicles. A new Ford transmission is $10k, are you thinking you are due for one with only 100k miles?

Seems like you'll hit 140k in 2.5 years, maybe 3. Plus depreciation...but after a quick search I'm shocked that 2015-2019 Raptors with 130k+ miles listed for 30k+.
Ford offering 0% on non-Raptors...

That’s really high for a warranty. I got a 60k extended warranty on my F-150 King Ranch for around $3,500. And I just used it to replace the cam phasers, a $4,800 job. Also used it to replace the transmission-$12,000. Worth every penny

I’m not a guy that tells other people how to spend their money (if they can afford it), but damn.

Yeah I don't understand this either. If you can afford a raptor then you should be able to afford the repair IF something were to go wrong. Heck replacing shocks is easy

I understand your fear of owning vehicle without a warranty, but here's my 2 cents.
I've owned continuously 1, 2 and sometimes 3 personal vehicles since 1984, and I've yet to spend over $1000 for any single repair, and can't recall ever spending over $1200 on any single vehicle's repairs. I'm highly confident that I'm way ahead of the repair/insurance issue without spending on extended warranties.
Worse case, it breaks, you're totally broke, so you put the repair on your credit card and pay for it over the next few months. At least you're paying for a repair that was actually needed, not one that never happened.
Best of luck on your decision.

Extended warranties rarely make sense. $8.5k for 40k miles/4 years seems a bit steep, i guess maybe because older raptor with miles, but keep in mind warranty doesnt cover ROUTINE maintenance like tires, suspension, brakes, etc... (i know suspension is hardly routine, but on that mileage vehicle you need to start thinking about it)
Do you really expect it will just go poof in trans/engine or something? Or have had tech issues needing repairs?
I havent had a warranty on my Accord for like 8 years now and I've spent $4.5k to maintain it since new in 2014
Not a single actual repair

My reason for not wanting to own it not under warranty:
I’ve had to replace my cam phasers twice. Had to have my transmission rebuilt. Had to replace my sunroof. Had to replace my Ford sync head unit.
The 8500 is not for the warranty. $5,000 is for tires and shocks. Raptor shocks are not like regular shocks and have to be rebuilt or replaced every 50-60k miles and are very expensive. Last time I went the rebuilt route.
Warranty is $3500

Curiosity, why do you want to continue to own a vehicle with so much maintenance required? And is this a daily driver?
I'm not one to judge what someone else does with their money, but if it were me, I'd be getting a truck that doesn't require otherwise unnecessary repairs. Or, is the next vehicle purchase going to be something different?

Needs new tires, shocks, and 4 yr/40K warranty for $8,500. Warranty alone is not $8500 but still expensive.
2019 Tahoe, extended warranty 5yr/50,000 mile cost me $3400 in Dec 2024
