Thinking about heading there next month any experience traveling there? Would you recommend it?

It is beautiful at Christmas. Castle, Christmas market, street food, cinnamon and sugar doughnuts cooked over charcoal and stuffed with Nutella, clock tower. You can pay a few bucks and join an English tour guide.

Absolutely.
We spent 3 or 4 days there this past April.
The most substantial and well preserved medieval old town I have ever been to.
We stayed at Hotel Augustine.
It is a 12th century monastery that is still a working monastery with 4 monks still living there. The monks no longer need the big complex, so they turned a portion of it over to Marriot which opened a luxurious hotel there. The monks have been brewing their own beer there for 700 years. The monks now get a local brewery to brew it for them, but you can still drink that same beer in the monks' beer hall which is now the hotel bar.
And the hotel restaurant is very good.
Restaurants
Kampa Park was our favorite. . It is on an island in the Moldau River right under the Charles Bridge. Delicious food in a beautiful setting with windows overlooking the bridge illuminated at night. ''
Another excellent restaurant was the one at Hotel Pod Vizi which is the hotel Nole Man recommend above. It is right around the corner from the Augustine, at the foot of the Charles Bridge. I can see how he enjoyed staying there. On our last night there, we had dinner outside on the patio in beautiful weather. Perfect way to end the trip.

One of my favorite cities in Europe. My visit imo. Stumble upon the many beer gardens and just sit back and enjoy life. Incredible walking city as well.

Great city, but get up early it gets crowded around the bridge, clock, old town square.
The castle is awesome, we did a medieval dinner which was better than expected, also recommend the river cruise.
Beer is cheaper than bottled water there.

We were there during Easter time. The main square by the astronomical clock is where they have the big, festive Christmas market. They have a scaled down Easter market version there. I’m sure it is bigger and more festive in December, but the weather was perfect in April.

Wish my advice was more current...but I was there for 10 days, just over 20 years ago and it was awesome.
When I was there, we went to the Royal Winery at Chateau Melnik (about 45 miles away), Sedlec Ossuary (Church of Bones) also about 45 miles away, and Bohemian Glassworks (which was a cool tour of the crystal factory where they make some amazing crystal).

Its great. Used to go about once a month for 3-4 days at a time between 2007 and 2013. Not a great place to drive a car because the cops are corrupt as hell but once you are there its about as good as Europe gets.

We went to Prague a couple of years ago in February. Had a very nice time but I think my expectations were too high. Everyone had been hyping it up and, while still a nice place, it didn't like up to the hype to me.
Stayed at the Andaz Prague which is a great property that was walking distance from a lot of the sights. I'd go back but there are other places I'd be more interested in exploring first.
