Do you really get nervous when you're about to shoot a deer?

Not a hunter, but young guys at work talk a lot of shite about everything , so I have to talk shite when the opportunity presents its self.
Young buck comes into work talking about how he shot this big doe and he was shaking like a leaf before he shot.
Of course, when the opportunity presented itself, I had to immediately respond. I told him a real man (age 50+) doesn't get nervous because we're built differently than these soft boys that still sleep with their stuffed animals and pajamas. It didn't take long before all the young bucks were running their mouths.
I did have another mature coworker - he's also not a hunter- talk more shite, so needless to say, they all want to take us hunting.
So I need to hear from the mature hunters! Please tell me that real men don't get nervous when Bambi offers a shot.
How do you get nervous when you're the one with the gun?

If you don’t get a little nervous before you shoot, it’s time to quit baw.

Not sure why but just never have.

You’re not a hunter, you’re never going to get it

quote:try drawing back on a 130+ buck with a bow or any deer closer than 50 yards. It’s the biggest adrenaline rush ever and its what made me fall in love with bow hunting.

I think you trolling but I’ll play.
I have literally killed over a 100 deer since I was 11 and I’m almost 50yrs old documented 75 or so before I lost my records in Katrina.
I have killed 150in whitetails and deer in at least 5-6 different states.
I’m sitting in a stand right now and if a decent 8 comes out I will get excited maybe not shaking but my heart rate will increase enough that my Garmin watch registers it. If it was a doe probably not, but if I had my bow that doe would make my leg shake and hands sweaty.
I hope I never lose that feeling cus I don’t hunt them anymore for the meat or the horns I’m still just chasing that feeling!!

When I make the conscious decision that I’m going to take that animal’s life, my heart starts beating a little faster. I just remind myself to calm down and take a few deliberate breaths.

I get the shakes if I have any time to think about it, 8 point or doe doesnt matter.

Only time I ever got shaky and “buck fever” was when a 10pt I’ve been hunting for two years came out.
I was aiming for a shoulder shot and ended up getting a lung shot.

Nah. I'm a stone cold killer.
Actually I completely lose my cool. Sort of embarrassing to be honest.

I’m a little bit different than others, I guess.
If I hear deer approaching in the water (I hunt swamp) I can get shakey.
If I see a doe that’s acting like a buck is behind her, I can get shakey.
When I see a deer I know I want to shoot, I don’t get shakey until after it’s over.

I do not. I have gotten the uncontrollable shakes after though.

No. Not at all and I’ve killed a 380” Wyoming elk at 12 steps with my bow. Some people do, some people don’t.

Do you really get nervous when you're about to shoot a deer?
When you shoot enough with your weapon, know it in and out and its capabilities and have a good setup, it's muscle memory, but if it's a shooter buck, I absolutely get some nerves kicking in.

Don’t get it personally but everyone is different…

Normally I don't. But I just shot a nice 8 point that actually gave me a whiff of that old buck fever feeling because I had to react fast. But us old dudes that have killed a mountain of deer know how to control it. It comes after the kill. Flood of endorphins and adrenaline. If you can keep it like that, you're a killer.
