If the 2026 team is not better than the 2019 team, fire his arse.
J/K but at this time next year, we should be discussing how our team will perform in the playoffs, not what the goals for the new coach should be. At the very least, we should be in the discussion. With a 12 team playoff, that’s not too much to ask for a program like LSU especially with the financial commitment made to Kiffin and NIL.

Appropriate Goal setting is about incremental obtainable progress and meaningful measurement of change. Anyone with training and experience understands this so you can speak to success and define areas that need improvement. CLK doesn’t have to set the goal as Playoff or bust, that’s implied. But pointing to growth of last year we had x yds/g and x points/g and we improved by 30% or more shows fans, players and admin that the program would be moving in the right direction.
