Trump’s Birthright Citizenship Case Means We Will Become Europe

If the Supreme Court upholds Trump’s Executive Order (most likely outcome based on the current court makeup), babies born in the U.S. in 2026 to undocumented mothers or mothers on temporary visas (tourist, student, etc.) will not automatically become U.S. citizens.
Only babies born to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green-card holders) will receive birthright citizenship.
Children born to illegal or temporary entrants will take their parents’ foreign citizenship and be subject to deportation when their parents are.
Think about this. I doubt most of you want to re-tile your shower or put on a new roof on your own.

BTW, wife and I did retile the bathroom ourselves, built a deck, a pergola and many other things. But the things we didn't want to do, we got individuals who immigrated legally from ex-Yugoslavia. Much better quality of work than those from south of the border give and the cost is only marginally more.

We need to start stripping back the “birthright citizenship” thing and retroactively take away citizenship based on when your family got here, at least back to the 1920s. Things started going downhill when we let Italians in
