They should hire Vence Kehres, the DC from Toledo. As HC at Mount Union, he was 95-6.

Kelly wouldn’t have to move and maybe his kid could see the field at Tulane

Is Memphis really a huge step up from southern miss?

This is what I'm wondering.

Bigly.

USM is a job that gets you a Memphis/Tulane job, which can then get you a big job.

Just curious. In my mind they’re basically the same. Have another good year at USM and get a big job

Not that long ago you would be correct. Then USM went to the sun belt and abandoned all ideas of becoming a bigger program.

FedEx just committed like $25M a year for 5 years to their NIL, so ya.

Daaammmmnnn he did USM dirty. He either must have really wanted out at Marshall or found USM not to his liking. Not like the AAC is a huge step up from the SunBelt.

Yep. Memphis is a top 3 Group of 5 job. They have really good administrative/booster support, good location, AAC is clearly the best G5 program and provides the best G5 path to the playoff, etc.

I think Memphis may have upgraded going from Silverfield to Huff, tbh.

I disagree, the football played in the AAC is definitely better than the fun Belt. So is the average monetary commitment to the program.

I’m sure salary was a good bit higher at Memphis. Also, even though significantly improved this year, fan support was non existent at USM. Attendance was the worst I’ve seen it.

Memphis and Tulane are both better than multiple P4 jobs.
