I've seen a lot of LSU football seasons and i'm getting up in my years....

During this whole season, I honestly wondered, more than ince, how much of a chance I had to see LSU become relevant again in my lifetime....
Today, between the players we've landed, and the coaches we retained, and the coaches it looks like we're gonna get, I can honestly say that I think the BEST is yet to come in my lifetime.
It is truly amazing how fast things changed around here. I'm sort of in shock to what an incredible position we're in right now, WITH THE PORTAL LEFT TO GO.....
Couldn't be happier or more hopeful!!
Feels great. Thanks Lane!

My dad is 83. I told him two days ago to make sure to live until at least 95 and he’ll have plenty more championships left to see. Football and baseball. GEAUX Tigers
He’s legit excited

I'm 77 and went to my first LSU game in 1958 against Hardin-Simmons. I would like to live long enough to see 1 more national championship. I think the great news of retaining Blake Baker brings us one step close that making that a reality. Forever LSU!

These years with BK really were a test on my attitude.

I’m in my 60s and feeling young again!! Kiffin is already getting so many things done in a short amount of time it’s obvious to me he’s really hitting his stride as a coach and Verge dude… your the leader this Athletic department needs after Woodward moved on!!!

I fell in love with LSU football at the LSU v USC game 1979 (absolutely HATE USC). I have attended almost every home game since and have ridden the LSU roller coaster. This year's Texas A & M game broke my heart because the roller coaster had reached a new low. It was not only bad football; it was boring! Tiger Stadium was so depressing. If riding the Lane trian means that we are heading up the roller coaster.....sign me up. I will take the possible dip..Nothing can be as.bad as what I witnessed with boring BK this yesr! Give me the drama. Give me the fun. Give me a rocking Tiger Stadium ready to Set it Off. Give me a competitive football team for Ship and maybe even a Ship.

Yep. I thought we were headed for the dark ages and honestly barely cared after this season.
These past few weeks have been insane. I was one who thought at the beginning of the season BK had us on a good trajectory and it really felt like the last straw for my Fandom that the team didn't just lose some games but was just not fun to watch even when we won. Outside of some defensive players the team looked uninspired and like they were getting chewed up by the grind like us fans.
Lane has me truly looking forward to next season and has brought some of that magic back for me that I thought may have been ground out of me for good by the new landscape if football.

Pop’s is 76 this year. After reading this, I think I’m gonna get him some new LSU swag to keep up with grandkids. Hopefully that’ll get him to a come to a few of the games with the family. He’s one of those that loves wearing the purple and gold while flying. LOL

This was also my first game! I was 6! Still remember how Tiger Stadium looked coming through the portal in the SE upper deck!

Props to you old timers chatting on the board.

You get what you pay for pretty much applies to everything in life. LSU is ponying up that's why it's turned the corner so fast. They had an AD before who meddled. Verge is refreshing take on how you let your horses pull the carriage. It's his job to hire the best and provide LSU athletics with the best opportunities to compete and he's over delivering atm. Great hire

I’m a relic. In 1967 as a freshman at LSU we had to have shaved heads join ROTC and wear pajamas to a ballgame and run out on the field at halftime. I’ve seen a lot of good and bad football since the Cholly Mac days. This is the best I have felt about the winning future for LSU football.

Losing Bo Rein was a significant loss.... would have been a true GoldenAge after Bear leaving Bama right before... LSU had great talent in the 80s... but never sustained success ... of course this is only In Theory... but I will always lament this misfortune

That was my first LSU game as well. I am 76. Looking forward to seeing the dynasty being in full force for the next 20 years.

The most eye opening thing about this thread is the amount of geezers in this site.
Glad the old guard is holding it down.

I’m 71 and a long time season ticket holder. My attendance requires six or seven 3 day weekends with a 15 hour round trip drive, 2 nights in a hotel, and an all day tailgate. Each season was getting harder and harder and more and more tiring. I’m not as good as I once was!
I had decided not to renew my season tickets after this past one but now….??? I have to admit all the recent developments are trying to suck me back in!! Especially with next season’s home schedule.

I'm right there with you, brother. I'll be 80 this summer and I've been a fan since 1958. I've wondered the same thing. Kiffin and Baker have renewed my hope.

My father went to LSU during the 1958 championship. I was there in the late 70s. What we are poised to do is very exciting. No doubt about it, it was a home run hire. I am so happy for all of my fellow tiger fans, and I can feel the excitement on the board. I wish Coach Kiffin the very best of luck!
