Really cool story from Saban about leaving LSU

Not sure if already posted. Really cool interview with Saban saying that leaving LSU was biggest career mistake. Wow. I guess theres some real legitimacy about Saban recommending LSU to Kiffin.

The greatest job in football. He admits his biggest mistake ever. Saban at LSU wins way more than he did at bama and would have been way happier.

He got pissed in his first year at Bama . They wanted him hanging out with boosters etc. He brought it up at a PC and said at LSU they knew I was there to win football games and they left me alone to do it. The booster request suddenly stopped.

That’s how you know Kiffin spoke to and was told to take the job at LSU. In his PC, he basically said Verge told him he was getting out of the way and Kiffin was there to coach…..in reality it was probably Lane’s side telling them (admin and boosters) to not meddle in his day to day and provide the resources - because that’s what Saban wanted and got.

Ego is very detrimental in our decisions of our lives.It's comentible Saban admits his big mistake.I forgive but I'm NOT forgetting Saban lied about being the new coach at Bama till....his plane touched down in Tuscaloosa!

I still think about the potential LSU dynasty had Saban stayed here...
No doubt in my mind he would have accomplished here what he accomplished at Bama.
Let's hope Kiffin is our new Saban who stays and wins mutliple championships!

This is debatable and would have not been a sure thing. With that being said, yes Saban would have won multiple National Championships at LSU. I'm thinking 4 to 6 titles.

Saban's wife admitted as much. She was quoted that there was "no doubt" her husband would have created a dynasty at LSU.
