Sorry if Germans (I searched and didn't find anything)
This is the most logical thing I've seen when it relates to who gets in and who gets left out

BCS era was the best answer. We have 2 undefeated teams who are clearly the best and most deserving teams to play for a title. Big ten didn’t have a conference championship back then so that’d be the match up

I just liked his ideas for the play in games. There's no reason that certain lesser teams get rewarded with a bye week for not having to play in a conf championship.

That actually sounds pretty damn entertaining

We had people bitching when the polls named their NC
We had people bitching when the Bowl Coalition determined the NC
We had people bitching when the Bowl Alliance determined the NC
We had people bitching when the BCS determined the NC
We had people bitching when a 4 team playoff determined the NC
We have people bitching now that it’s a 12 team format to determine the NC
If they go to 16 teams, guess what’s gonna happen?
A 20 team playoff…want to take a guess?

Nah I like my idea better. LINK
Ridiculous to think #5 Oregon or #6 Ole Miss have to “earn” their way in to the CFP.

most logical thing
Logic is waiting around to see if Virginia wins or loses and if they lose he wants the highest ranked loser? Here we go again, who’s doing the rankings after this magical round of games?
He right about 1 thing tho- the championship games give the high ranking teams a disadvantage.

The irony in this message is that last time that this happened and people were calling for the regular season rematch, the big ten team (Ohio State) got fricked by Florida in the Championship game.

136 teams with 2 making the postseason is idiotic
It should be 24 like FCS with no conference championships or bowl games. Home games all the way until Semi Finals
And even with 24 teams it would still be the lowest amount of eligible participants making the post season in any sport at 17.5%

If you want you fix CFB and the CFP they need to drop the student part from athlete. Make them employees of the university, and unionize the athletes of the P4. Additional setup a college fund for each athlete that would allow them to comeback to school paid for. This fixes all of the scheduling issues with semester start dates etc.

Agree with this, minus I think the bowls should start in the quarters since it would mostly align with schedule if you started the playoffs the second week of December. Every team gets 1 week off, and then the 8 teams with byes get 2.

Thats only true in a world where teams play equal schedules.
12-0 in the Sun belt isn’t the same as 12-0 in the Big 10 isn’t the same as 12-0 in the SEC.
The inclusion of additional teams is necessary to determine a champion because the teams in contention don’t have enough intersectional matchups to properly compare their performance during the regular season.
Just as OSU wasn’t top 2 going but won a championship and was clearly the most talented team last year the playoffs are necessary when teams like Indiana win in dominant fashion against teams that aren’t at all equivalent with teams in other conferences creating a win/loss vs SOS schism.

They're the higher seeds. So you get rewarded by having the play the juggernauts of JMU and Tulane. Bama has to play Georgia, but their reward is that both get in no matter what.

That’s not fixing the CFP, that’s just making it an 18-20 team playoff

Bogey, what were the highlights of the video? Can't watch now.

The conference championship game are NOTHING more than a money grab. That is the SOLE reason the first one was created by Roy Kramer. They were always unnecessary and in some cases did more harm than good. But with the advent of the 12 team (soon to be 16 team) CFP, it's time they go.
That would allow the CFP to start a week (maybe two) earlier. If the CFP started this weekend (like the NFL starting their playoffs the weekend following the end of the regular season), the championship game could be played on or around January 1st.
Were that the case NSD could be moved to January and transfer portal could be opened in early/mid January without any issues forcing CFP bound coaches to consider leaving early for a different job. That's entirely logical and makes too much sense, except.....
Logic isn't the primary driver of this. Money is. The conf championships games are valued into the media contracts. The networks aren't going to accept anything less than full value for what they are paying the conferences and the conference aren't going to take a cut in the money paid to them.
Then you have the major bowl games (Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta). They don't want to give us their Jan 1st (on or about) spot each year in exchange for one championship game played on that date. Thus, the quarterfinals have to be on (or around) Jan. 1st.

FALSE.
This is precisely the reason for the expansion. Indiana will be humbled. Ohio State will be tested but will withstand. Ohio State is very talented, I do not think Indiana should be lumped into the same conversation as them. This will become very apparent this weekend.

Basically,
Big 10 championship game: Ohio St and Indiana both get in
SEC championship game: Georgia and Bama both get in
Big 12 championship game: BYU and Texas Tech both get in
ACC championship game: if Vtech wins, they get in. If Duke wins, nobody gets in
Then the top seeds like Oregon, Ole Miss, and A&M have play in games against the lower seeds like Tulane, JMU, and Miami. Winners of those games go into the playoff. So pretty much like a wild card round.

I kinda want Tulane to just straight yolo their way to a natty and piss everybody off. It won't happen, but I want it.
