LSU and Clemson should mutually agree to cancel next year’s opener

And find cupcake replacements. The committee has proven they don’t give any credit for playing tough OOC games.
Texas’ close loss to Ohio State (AT OSU) kept them out of the playoff this year. If they played UTSA week one instead they’re in the playoff

Absolutely not. I look forward to LSU dropping 38 on a good Clemson defense.

Amazing how little college football everyone involved in college football wants to play these days.

I agree with you and I want that game too. But if you get punished by the CFP for losing it even if it’s close, there’s no advantage to playing it

Just look at Ohio State’s schedule.
They’re in a boring, but easy path to the playoffs year in and out.

Good point. It’s really the SEC teams that get punished the most for playing these really good OOC teams

Do you really love football or do you love what football can provide for you?
The line is moving rapidly

I virtually never downvote. Congrats. You created one of my rare exceptions.

Based on your user name, I’m compelled to tell you that you’re living in the past brother. Competition isn’t rewarded any more in this retarded generation. I wish it wasn’t that way just as much as you

Let’s cancel the whole season while we’re at it. Pussy mentality

Or let’s keep scheduling tough OOC games and get left out of the playoff every year and fire another coach. Especially since starting this year we are going from 8 to 9 conference games.
Or let’s be smart and put ourself in the best position with the shitty playoff committee and set ourselves up for a Natty. Even Mulkey said she schedules a weak OOC schedule.
Yet I don’t see you shitting on Mulkey.

Think about it like this: we're going to watch our team play 7-8 bowl games next year

OR
Let's schedule a quality OOC game, and MAKE the playoffs every year.
Why you so scared, baw?

I mean... losing to 4-8 UF is REALLY what did them in. They wouldve been passed by other teams if OSU never happened and they beat UTSA while still losing to Florida.

LSU can’t schedule a cupcake next year. Sec
Still mandates each school play 1 p4 team.

A year ago I said the same thing. Why not schedule a game with Furman or South Carolina Upstate than Clemson? I thought Clemson was some kind of juggernaut which would likely prove unbeatable on their home field, but they weren't, as even against an average LSU team with a poor offense they would prove to be even more ordinary.

Losing to 4-8 Florida: a BAD loss.
Losing in a rout to Georgia: a humiliating loss, similar to LSU's thrashing by A&M
Nearly giving back ALL of a 34-10 lead vs Vandy in a home game, and depending only on a misplayed onside kick recovery by Vandy to preserve a three point win is also suspect.
There are three reasons other than the Ohio State loss to decline a playoff offer to Texas
