Was Senator McCarthy villainous or prophetic?

I have long seen Senator McCarthy as a man well ahead of his time, and I think the leftism we see so pervasively in society and politics today is a testament to what he was warning America of some 75 years ago.

We’ve gone from a society on high alert for communist infiltration to one that alienates and demonizes traditional conservative American ideals and those who hold to them. I believe this is proof positive that what Senator McCarthy was saying was dead on accurate, and whilst people in this country were looking for a physical invasion by communists during the Cold War, they were already here and subverting us from within through entertainment, and education.

Prophetic.

He was dead on about communist infiltration of the government and institutions.

I always thought he was on the right track -

I have always thought that SOMEONE ought to ALWAYs be on the track he was pursuing.

In fact I wish we had a PERMANENT congressional committee devoted to that sole function.

If he had toned down his rhetoric even a fraction he would’ve been less villainized.

Conversely, who villainized him, if not those same he attacked, the very same who’ve turned the tables and demonized conservative Americans as the real enemy within.

Yep. It's our System that allows and promotes Free Speech as THE basis for our Constitutional Republic. It's the FIRST Amendment.

The fact that a very large segment of our citizens now desires a Socialist Government which enables them to "vote to write themselves checks out of the National Treasury", was recognized by the Founders as a systematic vulnerability.

This can't be settled by talk and votes. And a raw power struggle is inevitable.

It was too early to admit what General Patton would have told us.

There will come a time when a modern day Joseph Welch stands up to trump, and our country will begin to recover.

Seemed villainous... but over the last few years, he's beginning to seem prophetic.

neither. but half prophetic. he saw the communist infiltration and was called nuts by the SFP's of the time. much like the 'satanic panic' line of bullshite SFP uses.

he saw the infiltration so brilliantly via the fake moderates weaseling in govt. prophetic at how bad it could get. he knew it would not be called out as it fully happened, because they would label as they did him-a nut.

The communists have been attacking this country since the late 1800's, probably since it's inception really.

Its a disease, like liberalism.

We have abundant documentation of just how many people were communists in government or academia ; either CP members or visibly associated with CP organizations. After the Soviets collapsed and Venona was made public, we saw it was as bad or even worse than McCarthy feared.

People think the left just started to dominate media spin. The attacks on McCarthy are proof it has been going on for a long time.

It has been the low boiling of the frog strategy.
