He still owns part of Ivars, but at one point owned Happys, Beaudreaux & Thibodeaux, Bengal Tap room, City Bar BR, Bumsteers, and others.
He never pays his bills and his businesses have been evicted from multiple locations.
This time he was trying to rip someone off on Facebook marketplace.

Chad Hughes, a Baton Rouge developer and restaurateur, was arrested Monday on counts of theft and issuing bad checks for his alleged role in the fraudulent purchase of a trailer.
Baton Rouge police were first contacted on Aug. 4, by a man who said he had listed his trailer for sale on Facebook Marketplace and was contacted by Hughes regarding the purchase.
The two allegedly agreed on a price of $20,000 for the trailer and surrounding dumpsters…
the seller later told police that the check from Hughes bounced due to insufficient funds, according to arrest documents.
The seller contacted Hughes, who acknowledged the issue with the check and allegedly stated that he would issue a new check in a few days, police said.
Since that conversation, the seller has made multiple attempts to contact Hughes through phone calls and text, but Hughes reportedly cut off communication, according to police.

Not that it would be true, but they missed a golden opportunity there.
They could have had a pirate with a patch as their mascot with the slogan.
"Pizza so good it's worth losing an I over."

Who owns Ivars? Is it the original guy who opened it? How old is Ivar's?

We seem to have a yearly thread about him screwing someone. The only reason I remember the name is because I remember thinking after the last post that anyone who engages with this guy deserves to involuntarily donate to his cause.

Didn’t Eric also own part of all of these? How odd.

Looks like it was over a trailer. Don’t we know some people who can get that back?

Guy with a patch said that to me when I served him at Var’s one day. 100% true. Everyone laughed.

Can’t believe they were 0 for 2 at that location.
But the bbq was salty and not good. And the service was bad.
The pizza was expensive, but was okay. and the service was bad.
Too good of a location to not do well.
