Sources: Charlie Weis Jr. will coach the Ole Miss offense in the CFP

Kiffin's Statement:
quote:

"With the playoff committee releasing updated rankings tonight, I wanted it to be known that after conversations with LSU, we are allowing Charlie to return to Ole Miss to coach the team during the playoffs," Kiffin said. "I've already made the committee aware of this and I'm hopeful this decision will allow Ole Miss to receive the highest ranking possible because these great players are very deserving of that. I'm excited that Charlie will be back to help coach the greatest team in the history of Ole Miss."

Charlie Weis' Statement:
quote:

"I'm grateful to LSU for allowing me the opportunity to finish this season with Ole Miss," Weis said. "Coach Kiffin and the LSU Administration have been nothing but supportive. I'm excited about the playoff run."

I actually don’t mind this, but after the “frick you Charlie” at the airport he’s a better man than I am.

Boooooo. I wanted to see Ole Miss on its knees with no offensive staff.

so they were worried about Kiffin coaching the team and trying to tamper with their roster but they're going to let our OC next year stay with the team

Ole Miss should bow to us for allowing this.

So, they’re really not afraid that someone on the LSU staff will be coaching there and have an opportunity to “poach” their players after all?

Yep and this trashes the media narrative now about how can you allow your new enemy to still hang around your house? why not just let lane finish coaching the rest of the way if you’re gonna allow Weis? Verge said we were good with it.

Great job by all parties on making this happen. Hopefully this can heal a little bit of wounds.

Why is everyone convinced they’re even going to make the CFP?

If the committee follows their own stated principles, they’re out.

CFP stated principles
