Just a reminder that two things are at play right now. Ole Miss is looking at two things simultaneously: keeping/assembling a staff for the playoff and also a permanent staff. Ole Miss believes it has its staff for the rest of this season. Outside of knowing definitively on Charlie Weis. However, not all of those coaches are going to have a longterm spot potentially. Pete doesn't have to just keep Lane's staff for next season. So some of those guys are looking around because don't have assurances beyond the playoff. This is going to take everyone giving it some time and breathing a little bit.

As of now, I do think it's possible Charlie is back for the playoff but not a guarantee. Also, as of now, contrary to a couple Ole Miss sources who remain optimistic, I don't think Charlie is on staff next year.

I've also heard Pete's presser might be Wednesday instead of tomorrow.

Austin Thomas, as Neal reported, wants to come back, and he's one of a few names being considered. Bolden is also interested in coming back should Thomas get that GM gig.

Ole Miss believes Garrison and Smith (OL, RB) will coach the playoff run

We’ll see it’s hard to say when ole Miss writers have been wrong time and time again during this whole situation

I knew Lane was going to can Thomas lol. I said it in the thread where he was jumping up for joy when he saw Kiffin. I said he was kissing arse in hopes he doesn't get canned. Really want their OL coach they've been elite in running for awhile in the SEC.

I wish we’d make Thomas associate athletic director but I wonder if he wants to be more hands on with a football program specifically.

I wish Lane would forgive and forget, but he must feel that we’ll be fine without Thomas. Works for me.

If there is one thing we have learned over the last few weeks its that Ole Miss insiders don't have a single clue what's going on.

Issue is it’s hard to get credible info when your side isn’t the power player, rather the one getting poached by big brother. Everything they get is shaky because LSU is the power at play

Ole Miss scrubbed him from the directory.

Won't take too much time. They won't last long in the playoffs without half their offensive staff.

Let me make sure I understand what is being reported. Per Ole Miss 247, Ole Miss refused to allow Lane to coach the playoff run after announcing that he accepted the head coach job at LSU, but they will allow the assistant coaches to coach the playoff run that accepted positions at LSU Is that what’s being reported?

That’s probably the only definitive part of this whole thing. Ole Miss doesn’t have a clue what’s happening at their own program

Dellenger just said on MM’s show that Weiss has signed a term sheet with LSU

Charlie is not coming back for the playoffs lol, that’s delusional. He went on the plane to BR plus Kiffin isn’t going to allow that shite.

I did not understand this logic either. But they did promote Golding to a permanent position so all logic is out the window
