The nation’s average price of gasoline has fallen 8.5 cents over the last week and stands at $2.95 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is down 6.9 cents from a month ago and is 5.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 5.5 cents in the last week and stands at $3.72 per gallon.
“Nearly every state saw average gas prices fall heading into Thanksgiving, with the national average dipping below $3 per gallon for several consecutive days—falling to $2.95 per gallon over the weekend, the lowest level since May 2021,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “With refinery maintenance largely complete and OPEC increasing oil production for December, oil prices have struggled. Combine those factors and you have a solid recipe for continued downward pressure on gas prices in the weeks ahead. A few dozen stations are already offering gas under $2 per gallon, and we could see that number grow as we move further into the holiday season. It couldn’t come at a better time for Americans—with relief arriving just as the holidays kick off.”

The effects of the Inflation Reduction Act and Building Back Better are now coming into play to save the American consumer.
$2.19/gallon at Sam's in Beaumont yesterday, and Colorado bracket-busting into the Top 3 for lowest average price.

What's the impact on crawfish prices?

I didn't see nearly the amount of fields in Acadia and Jeff Davis Parish flooded last week that I was expecting. Wonder if the weather staying warm through November had something to do with the timing.

High gas prices were being blamed as one of the biggest reasons inflation got out of control. Now that gas has been relatively low, groceries prices should start dropping dramatically any day now!

Wife says groceries have actually been reducing in price lately. Slightly, but nonetheless.

Cool. Now what about America Last corrupt career politicians insider trading while bending over backwards for billionaires and lobbyists subsidizing the comfy lifestyles of those taking advantage of the welfare system at the expense of the middle class? Can we at least get term limits or age restrictions? Nope, guess we’ll just have to bite our tongues when octogenarians pass legislation affecting everyone else for decades that won’t be alive for to auger the consequences of. But, hey, temporary lowered gas prices must be like corporations doing pizza parties instead of bonuses while CEOs make 30x the average employee salary.

One good reason to live in S. Louisiana. Haven't seen gas over $3/gallon in a very long time. Filled up this morning for $2.25/gal.
