Why would they want to fire a coach who is more accomplished in 6 seasons than Lane who has never really accomplished anything as HC? That wouldn't make sense. DeBoer has his flaws, but he wins like nearly 80% of his games as a D1 head coach.

Even Saban's last season wasn't the same Bama. The defense had fallen off a cliff in Saban's last few years. Saban had some very close calls in his last season; nearly lost to a horrendous Arkansas team and was a 4th and 26 away from losing to Auburn. This is actually the best defense Alabama has fielded in many years.
