Who are realistic candidates to replace him as DC assuming Golding stays? If baker is offered a head coach role at his Alma mater I can’t blame him for leaving but hope we can keep him

Durkin needs to be the first and only call honestly

Yeah that would suck but completely understand if he goes. Really wish we could keep him.
Ill make a call to John Chavis.

Definitely wouldn’t blame him for leaving but I really don’t think he’s ready for that step up. That job will definitely be there in a few years, and he’s young.

Don't see Baker leaving, knowing that Lanes high powered offense is coming. Giving them the best chance of a National championship that he'll EVER get. Now once they've won a title together, I can see him leaving for a big opening...not Tulane

That’s BS, Baker is ready for the Tulane job. I definitely wish him the best.

What is the connection between Baker and Tulane? Why do people assume that both sides are interested in the other?

I don’t know. Fritz and Sumrall have raised the profile of that job. Sumrall jumps to Florida after a brief stint at Tulane. If Baker has a couple of good years there he will be in high demand.

He’s a Tulane alum

They just had their coach leave for a big opening

Baker could rather stay at LSU a few seasons longer and see if he could get an opportunity at an SEC program instead. There will be a lot of eyeballs on LSU next year for good or bad.

That’s where he played college football and holds a degree from

He would be better served playing the long game and holding out for a major gig.

He played there.

Tulane would be crazy not to at least consider Baker. Baker knows the area and will be able to understand recruiting the southeastern Louisiana area. He’s definitely an option. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t get an interview
