I get that they are bringing Kiffin's family (presumably) and maybe a couple of his coaches. But why would they need two planes? Been wondering that.

Planes, especially ones like these, are perfectly capable of flying high enough to avoid the weather from a front. Don't read anything into what I posted, I'm not doubting he's coming, but that's not really a valid reason to delay. It's probably because of the current shitstorm in Oxford, not the actual weather.

Uhhh, not correct. I know plenty of pilots that fly these types of jets and they definitely flight plan around this type of weather.

Agree they can fly above/around once at altitude, but commercial flights are routinely delayed when they have to takeoff and land in bad weather.
