LSU admin is fine with Kiffin finishing the season and coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs, however Ole Miss is not obviously. Kiffin legit thought with this potentially the greatest season in school history, they would want him to finish the year. As I said previously, the old school, big money crowd has several big shots who want him out immediately. The hang up is the signed LSU contract, whenever that is done, makes things complicated. This could all end today or potentially drag out even longer. LSU is giving Kiffin an exceptionally long leash on this whole process, knowing he can’t stay in Oxford now.

We just want what’s best for our coach.

We shouldn’t let it drag on indefinitely though.
Come sign an agreement.. handle your final business in Oxford as you see fit.

Yes let him finish what he started.

Really?

I wouldn't let lane do anything w/OM and the CFP w/o a signed MOU or contract.

They aren’t fine with it. They just know Ole Miss won’t allow it, which enables them to take the high road and pretend to be ok with it.

Exactly.

It’s an untenable situation. Once everyone knows he’s leaving (and whoever’s going with him), those people cannot be allowed near the program. Not in this circumstance. Other situations lend themselves to coaches finishing their season, but this ain’t one of them.
BTW-we just went through this 4 years ago with Kelly whose ND squad was in the playoff. He had to go.
I will be really interested to see if Sumrall gets Tulane to the playoff and whether OM or Florida allow him to coach. All signs point to NO.

LSU is actually coming off as the measured and reasonable ones. It’s a great PR move.

Verge said he was fine waiting until the playoffs when this was kicked off.

It's a shame Ole Miss isn't putting their players first.

this is 1000% the correct way... let Ole Miss be the bad guy here, while still getting exactly what you wanted anyway: Lane Kiffin, and right now...
we get the luxury, by laying back and not demanding he resign at OM and come to BR now, of having the perception of having his back, supporting him in his quest, etc... while, let's be honest, we really want him in BR as soon as possible... we know OM won't let him coach if he leaves, so just wait for OM to fumble it even more and be there with open arms to welcome him when he has no other cards to play in the whole "coaching in the playoffs" fiasco

ND was not in the playoffs. They had a chance to be, but they didn’t get in that year.
