"LSU has had the plan to pick Lane Kiffin up tomorrow for some type of situation on Monday in Baton Rouge. The Tigers felt good enough about it this afternoon to send the plane, and it's parked and waiting (not in Oxford) assuming the schedule plays out as expected.
Now, look, it has to finish off for that to happen, and things have gone incredibly dark right now. We're working on it from multiple angles, and I hope we have a tangible update soon. Kiffin clearly played some level of hard ball today regarding coaching beyond the regular season. LSU expected Ole Miss to just get rid of Kiffin and make it easy for them to grab him tomorrow. So at 8:48 p.m. there's that and we'll see where it goes. Maybe there's clarity as this game plays out. It's that option, or the deadline in Ole Miss' statement will pass without significant news."

Auburn just trying to add more drama and gasoline

Ole Miss will eventually dismiss him.

If true there is no way he will be at ole miss next year.

They can’t, they don’t have a mitigation clause for his contract.

Ole Miss would look horrible if their deadline passes with no decision. Completely toothless.

They already do and Lane pretty much has them held hostage with players/coaches. Lane wants to finish this year and Ole Miss doesn’t have the nuts to remove him from coaching duties (yes I know they aren’t firing him but they can prevent him from being in the building/field)

They can, it will just be expensive.

Yes.

The could suspend or demote him. Think they are afraid of a coaching or playoff committee mutiny if they did. Lane holds all the cards if they can’t man up.

he will be our coach next year if we really want him to be and are willing to let him coach as long as ole miss let's him

It’s not a government validating military action.

I would bet that the endgame here is a mutual separation if they dont play in the SEC championship.
Kiffin leaves...reduced buyout or no buyout.
OM moves forward without him.
Everybody says nice things in their press release.

I don't think he actually wants to coach, it's all about controlling the story. If we don't let him coach he plays the victim. No way lsu wants him anywhere but Baton Rouge working on his team for next year but lane doesn't want to look like the guy that quit on his team. Pretty much lane is putting both schools 2nd to his reputation
