Lane Kiffin Holding LSU & Ole Miss Hostage Shows Why You Don’t Let a Man-Child Lead

This whole Lane Kiffin soap opera between LSU and Ole Miss is exactly why you never let a man-child coach control the narrative of your program. Both fanbases are sitting around refreshing Twitter like it’s National Signing Day, waiting to see what mood Lane is in today. That alone should tell you everything.

Kiffin thrives on attention. He loves chaos. He loves being the center of the college football universe—even if it means leaving two SEC programs twisting in the wind while he drops cryptic emojis and troll posts. This isn’t leadership. This is a 50-year-old man acting like a teenage recruit stringing schools along for clout.

While LSU is trying to stabilize the program and Ole Miss is trying to protect what they’ve built, Lane is treating this like his own personal reality show. And the worst part? Both programs are letting him. That’s the danger. The minute you allow a personality like Kiffin to dictate the pace, control the speculation, and play games with fan emotions, you’ve already lost leverage.

This is who he is: impulsive, performative, emotionally reactive, and addicted to the spotlight. He loves being the guy everyone is waiting on. He feeds off it. But that doesn’t make him the kind of grown-up leader you trust with long-term stability.

If you’re a serious program, you don’t let a coach hold you hostage with Twitter antics and ego-driven indecision. You don’t let a man-child flip between two jobs like he’s choosing dinner plans.

The fact that Lane has LSU fans and Ole Miss fans pacing the room waiting for his “decision” is the clearest sign yet: entertaining? Yes. Elite offensive mind? Sure. But someone you let dictate the future of your program?

Absolutely not.

I would hardly call a bunch of impatient neck beards on Tigerdroppings as being "held hostage"

I'm starting to think like you. Nothing will happen tonight regardless if Alabama wins.

I guess tomorrow is the day - Once Again.

Or, he's in a unique situation created by the clueless NCAA.

Been against him from the start. Everyone I talk to wants him but nobody can give a solid reason why. There are other offensive minded coaches out there.

I think LSU went all in with him and said we would wait. So you’re mad at LSU for waiting?

Yeah, maybe.

Or maybe he’s just a man torn with a tough decision. A coach who wants to finish his season but also make a move.

If you’ve ever been offered a job, you’d know it’s a tough decision that can alter your life.

He’s not holding LSU hostage.

He wants to coach his team through the playoff.

LSU has told him he’s their guy and they’re good with him coaching the playoff then coming to BR.

Ole Miss won’t make up their mind if they’re going to let him coach the team through the playoff

It's his decision, his life. It's not about you.

I don’t care if he comes or not, but it takes a real simple minded prick to come up with this shite take of an analysis. The guy’s trying to make what amounts to the most consequential decision of his professional life up to this point.

Your view point is as slanted as what you're accusing Lane of. Double standard. Lane met with Ole Miss AD earlier and the sticking point being reported is how he leaves? Can he coach the playoffs, and a lot more. Like children some are bitching that he's leaving his team, but reality is he wants to come to LSU but not abandon his team before their done. Why can't yall respect that?? Stupid punks

What if, hear me out…. He wants to come to LSU but he also wants to finish the season with the team he assembled and coached to the playoffs. I mean what a cluster frick the NCAA has created when teenagers hold schools hostage, but a coach cannot take a dream job without the school threatening to kick him off the team. If LSU agrees to let him finish the season then all this drama would go away if Ole Miss would just let him finish his job. The NCAA is ran as bad as a Louisiana McDonalds drive through.

Being an adult is making hard decisions. Lane wants to be at LSU. But, he wants to finish what he started at Ole Miss. I don’t think that’s doable. A double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.

So, Lane Kiffin doesnt have the right to consider other coaching offers?

I don't see where he's done anything wrong.
